Who Is Quiet Riot’s New Singer? | My Prediction

The Hair Metal Guru | August 28, 2026

Quiet Riot has officially announced that they have found their new lead singer — but they haven’t revealed his identity yet.

In this breaking news video, I break down the latest announcement and look at the names being discussed in the rumor mill, including Ari Kamin, Andrew Freeman, Roy Cathey, and John Torra. Then I give you my prediction for who will be behind the microphone when Quiet Riot hits the stage in October.

Who do YOU think it is? Let me know in the comments!

While I would love to see it be John Torra, and definitely think he would be the best fit, I doubt they'll pick him.

The other thing that we can toss onto why John is the best pick, is that right now he's got a complete grass roots movement behind him pulling for him. You can't buy the publicity that has been surrounding John. And because the kid is so young, he's probably a lot more aware of social media, and self promotion. Chances are the rest of the band no longer knows how to self promote, times change, ways to promote change.

Whether or not Quiet Riot chose John Torra, he will be a huge success regardless. He is the one of the most gifted rock singers I have heard in a long time. It is QR's loss on many levels if they do not hire him. QR being in their sunset years would be a good starting point for John Torra. We'll be seeing him for many years to come. I'd love to have him sing on my demos without blinking an eye, and probably not have to use autotune.

Anthony I am with you! I do believe it is John Torra also! Definitely strange that he is laying low and very quiet as of recent! Let’s hope it’s John! Out of all the singers you discussed I definitely feel John is definitely the most qualified for the Quiet Riot gig!🤘🏻

LFG!!!! John Torra is my pick. I think it will do the same thing as it did for Skid Row with Erik Gronwall, and for Journey with Arnel. Those bands seemed like they had a 2nd life for the first few years or all of Erik's tenure.

Quiet Riot can re-animate the corpse of Kevin DuBrow and not a soul on Earth would care. I've heard dozens of cover bands do 'Metal Health' better than the real thing.

John would be great, but I’m sure it will be some retread . His social media posts are probably down because the band he IS in probably had the talk about whether or not he’s with them, or using them. Ultimatum type of talk.

Should they go with the young guy? Yes. Great White made it work. Firehouse made it work. This is the best response. Don't go with a long time guy from other bands. Don't do it.

As always, another great show. But when you think about how many singers this band has had, and now changing for two shows, and then possibly another show, and then changing to a new singer? It's a joke. I love the music of Quiet Riot. I always have. I think Paul Shortino was fantastic, and love his work. Truly. But the consistent changing of singers? It makes this band sound like a karaoke band. Journey did it. And others have. And any respect that fans may have had for this band drops significantly. I'm not even sure I could follow this band live anymore, because you don't know who they'll have this week or next. It's just kind of sad.

It would be cool if they release some new music to go along with the new singer. We all know it won’t sell, but it would still be something cool for the fans. These bands could do la guns and record an album every few years if they really wanted to . I’m pretty sure Tracii producers their music himself nowadays with the help of another musician and it’s done in Home Studios like most albums nowadays so cost shouldn’t be an issue

    NEWS FLASH!
This is an absolute fucking Farce because this is not even close to Quiet Riot. Rudy Sarzo is the only original member of Quiet Riot in the God damn line up. It is sad to see Rudy continuing on with this pathetic excuse for Quiet Riot. If Carlos Cavazo would rejoin on guitar, it would be far more credible with him and Rudy together but this pathetic joke with just Rudy and 3 bozos in the lineup is a disgrace.
