Welcome back to Impact Theory with Tom Bilyeu. In today’s episode, we break down the growing economic turmoil facing the world’s two largest economies: the United States and China. With both nations experiencing troubling trends—China hit by a historic pullback in lending and government borrowing, and the U.S. seeing a sharp drop in consumer spending—our guest, Jeff Snider of Eurodollar University, helps us unravel the complex interplay between banking systems, government policy, and national psychology.

We’ll explore why China’s hidden debt crisis and the CCP’s response could trigger global ripple effects, how low interest rates signal trouble rather than prosperity, and the critical role expectations play in shaping economic outcomes. Drawing vital parallels between China, Japan’s “lost decade,” and the current state of the U.S., we’ll discuss what these shifts mean for the future—and for your own financial strategy in uncertain times. Strap in as we connect the macroeconomic dots and reveal why understanding these currents is essential for anyone aiming to thrive in a volatile world.

Double entry accounting is SEVEN HUNDRED YEARS old. The United States could have had mandatory accounting in high schools since 1950.

Where is the Data on the Annual Depreciation of Automobiles since 1976? I have never owned a New car.
Going into debt for depreciation is idiotic. Why does anyone care what they look like?

Tom is great, but he needs to emphasize more the injustices of the corporate elite hijacking the nation's wealth and governance. Do that as much as much as you emphasize your disdain for the people trying to take back a small slice of what was stolen from them, and then it will feel like a more fair and just perspective.

In the double-entry bookkeeping system, money is created via bank lending and government spending (adding to economy) and is destroyed via loan repayments and taxes (subtracting from economy).

Central banks create a wealth pump mechanism into assets through money “printing”, which erodes purchasing power, and is driven by deficit spending, which creates money for the private sector.

Profits are privatized; losses are socialized.

SPX28D is similar to a worldwide computer that developers use to build apps on a decentralized network. While Bitcoin has the capacity to act as digital money, SPX28D can be the programmable infrastructure. Both have different goals but are super important to understand.

2 of the Magnificent 7 have dropped after announcing they're increasing capex. KOSPI dropped 40% in the last month. SpaceX lockout ends in a week, the vide is shifting towards crypto specifically SPX28D.

Tom, how much time have you spent in China? I've lived there for a decade, I'm American. I find 99% of Western people have NO IDEA of what is going on in China, Chinese people's thinking and their history of course. I implore you to take a trip there for 30 days and do some filming, interview average people and elites, REAL "boots on the ground" reporting, I think it will change your life. Peace from Bangkok, Thailand.

What an American way of looking at the world that you have to take sides to a war between China and US. I yearn for the day someone sane actually wants peace and cooperation. Yes, this is possible and logical. A war between 2 major super powers only ends in everyone losing.

Lame you support AT&T and did an ad for them when they're anti-American due to them selling out Americans' data to the government starting 2 decades ago whenever asked without a warrant… I'll never support them for doing that, and Im sure continuing to do that. Go with AT&T if you want your rights violated! I know most others aren't any better, but I heard of them doing it first.

I just don’t even care anymore. Crash. Boom. Who cares. 😂. It’s been the same talking points since I was 13 listening to AM radio with my grandpa…40 years ago

How many years have we listened to “China is Crashing” theory?

We’re now at the Gordon Chang level of insanity 😂

China of course has some problems due to the correction in the housing market but this is absolutely insane logic 🤦‍♂️

China is not Japan. What a crazy argument as China has 1.3 billion people and manufacturers 32% of all world goods!

Could it be the Chinese government is preparing itself or combating inflation by holding back on the loans and increasing taxes. Are they just managing the liquidity situation?
