Thank you for these movie links! I was a fan of Eight is Enough back in the day, and recently rewatched it on Tubi. But I somehow missed its reunion movies. I'm glad to have the chance now.

I can't believe I missed every one of these reunion movies (except a Brady Bunch one), when I soaked up every single one of those old 60s and 70s shows in reruns after school every day. No time like the present, I guess…

If you haven't, you should cover "High School USA" It brought together actors from many 50s and 60s family shows with then-current teen TV actors Michael J Fox, Willis and Kimberly from Different Strokes, Anthony Edwards, and many more.

I just watched Still the Beaver after finishing a rewatch of the series. The characters are wacky even though they are middle aged. Beaver is portrayed as a loser that even his kids don't respect. Why did Ward die in 1977 when Hugh Boemont died only a couple years before in 1981?

When I was 13 years old my parents got me the first season of Gilligan's Island for my birthday. I got the other two seasons a little later. I remember one Saturday me and my family watch The Rescue From Gilligan's Island on our family's desktop computer in my parent's master bedroom on YouTube. This was before YouTube had long form videos so we had to watch it in parts.
I watched the I Dream of Jeannie Reunion Special on my grandmother's desktop computer too. The reason why I (a Gen Z girl) knew about this special was because I was just playing around Wikipedia (I'm a nerd) one day and looked on YouTube to see if someone posted it.😅😂

It's best not to question or scrutinize anything from the 80s too hard, that risks strain. XD

Return to Mayberry is the best TV reunion movie, no question. They brought back every recurring character they possibly could. It was mature without being depressing. BTW, Frances Bavier was still alive when the movie was made but she was so sick she was unable to perform. They knew she was gonna die by the time it came out so they had Aunt Bee die. Also, she hated being Aunt Bee but that's another story

21:20 I was so happy to see Get Smart Again on this list! It was one of my fav reunion movies ever! Fun Fact: Nick at Night had a Get Smart Marathon to celebrate the movie and for a week it played every Get Smart episode and ran trivia questions! I used up so many tapes recording it! My dad was a huge fan of the series growing up. He passed in 1989 but it is still a fond memory for me. 😌

I recently watched Get Smart Again and Return to Mayberry. Both were fun trips down memory lane. The best part is that they leaned into the nostalgia instead of trying too hard to lead to a new show. Of course, in Hollywood, people will try anything to get a new project greenlit, but you could tell the approach was more for existing fans than trying to attract new ones.

My favorites were I Dream of Jeannie: 15 years later, I still Dream of Jeannie and the Incredible Hulk tv reunion movies and Gilligan’s Island tv reunion movies.

Holy crap, why do I feel like Gillian’s Island ripped off Space Jam in some way? The Incredible Hulk movies will always be my all time favorites. I’m from NC, Andy Griffith was a prerequisite growing up to the point where we would watch episodes in class. I loved Beverly Hillbillies, but yeah, that movie disappointed me. I still watch Munster’s Revenge every Halloween. I got into a fight with my oldest sister over the tv because I wanted to watch Munsters and she wanted to watch something else. I’ve seen all these movies at one time or another and in some cases I wasn’t necessarily old enough to understand a lot of the recasting and things like that. I know it was in the 90’s, but I still liked the Dukes of Hazard Reunion where Daisy and Enos get married. I really enjoyed this trip down memory lane.

The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island is generally accepted by most film experts as the greatest movie ever made. To this day Hollywood insiders aren't sure why it wasn't released to theaters, as it is believed it would've made more money at the box office then Avatar, Star Wars and Avengers: Endgame combined.

April 5, 2026 at 5:30 pm
I'm glad Return to Mayberry is in the list because I was going to mention it if it wasn't. That is very easily one of the greatest reunion movies of all time, not just the 80s.

I watched a few of these. The two Jeannie movies are not good in my opinion. In the first, not only does Larry Hagman not appear in lt, but the characters of Tony and Roger never interacted with each other at all. Roger was just there.

I own and watch the Perry Mason Returns series! I adore them. My mom watched them when I was little (though she mostly watched (and still watched!) the original show) so they bring back VERY old memories (like, early childhood).

As a Gen Z person, with one of their special interests being classic television, this video is great! Love your plot descriptions, bits of lore and the editing is just superb. Especially the Gilligan’s Island, I dream of Jeannie, and Carol Burnett ones. You did a fantastic job on this video!

I remember cbs brought back the Brady bunch in the late 80s as a reboot, it was called the Bradys. wondered if a very brady Christmas was the pilot for that reboot? or not. I remember it was on a friday night. but it came on during tgif. actually, my mistake, it was 1990. not sure if we listened to it all, remember listening to the episode where Jan adopts that little girl Patty.

9:12 I'm sorry, I think Lindsay Wagner looks amazing in the reunions. Lee Majors may have had something going on in his personal life too, as he looks older than he did on The Fall Guy. Again, I loved all 3 bionic reunion movies, especially seeing the young Sandra Bullock…

When The Very Brady Christmas first aired I recorded it on VHS. I watched it everyday for a week. I was going to record over it when my stepfather made a comment about me watching it everyday, so being the smart a$$ that I am, I kept it and watched it everyday for the entire year until it came on again the following year.

Funny thing I first saw a Very Brady Christmas in 1990 before I saw the Brady Brides in 2002. The most memorable scene in Brady Brides is when Jan announces her engagement to her parent, who become shocked because they thought Marcia would be married first. Thought nothing of it, until many relatives who are younger than me are now married, while I'm still single and almost 50 years old.

The New Leave it to Beaver was originally called, “Still the Beaver” and aired on the Disney Channel. In the late 80’s, it returned to WTBS, as “The New Leave it to Beaver”.

I always said being on the island as long as they have, you would think the six island mates would have moved back to Kansas with Mary Ann. Why? Because the closest thing to an ocean in Kansas is a lake. Kind if hard to get stranded in a lake… even if you tried.

I disagree about Lindsay Wagner looking a lot older. Her hairdo is unfortunate. Lee Majors, on the other hand, has def aged.
