Let's be very clear: Whitney was NOT broke. Did she have 1999 money? No. Could she afford everything she needed to look like 10 million dollars. Most definitely.

There are also the inverse scenarios , former NBA player Junior Bridgeman had a modest playing career ( never earning more than 350 k in a single season ) but amassed a billion dollar franchise empire and suffered a heart attack during a speaking engagement at a relatively " young " 71 yrs old .

Such a sad list. On a RuPauls Drag Race Episode they had makeovers and a much older gay man told RuPaul a story that rendered him speechless, for the first time. He said he was friends with Judy Garland and they were discussing sleeping pills and told her he had something new for her to try and she woke up dead and he said to RuPaul, with total seriousness’ I think I killed Judy Garland’
