Damn, the dreaded modern "hot cross buns" melody RIGHT OFF THE HOP paired with the worst lyric of the year. From a Berkeley grad. I will never take Berkeley seriously again.

Isn't 21:12 the same as Jack Johnson's Sitting, Waiting, Wishing's chorus?

Way late to the game. First time I've ever heard a Charlie Puth song (#blessed), and I'm like "okay did Megan Traynor or whateverthefuck her name is write this for him" (even though she's probably never wrote anything including her own name). Boom! And then there she is, at the end of the vorus for the jump scare. FML

the bit you were trying to work out what they'd ripped off & then realised it was something you wrote yourself – it's also a lot like the end bit from the Man Who Sold the World

the bit the comes to mind for the melody at 21:18 is the end of Sitting, Waiting, Wishing by Jack Johnson for me. Which is a song i feel like was pretty popular on commercial radio 20 years ago.
