Yes I really like this take, and the Falcon and Winter Soldier was Sam coming to see it in himself. He had to understand for himself what it means for a Black American to be Captain America. Steve as Captain America is allowed to become a resolute and true personification of America as it and even as it has aspire to be, and Sam as Captain America is the embodiment of this

Ive seen a few people get anmoyed at Steve for not signing on to the accord and blame him for the war with Stark but Im like Stark has probably more blood on his hands than Steve ever did. Stark probably wouldnt have trusted Sam as much as Steve did

I have a bit of problems with the actor who.plays Sam biut I really love Sam as a character and his friendship with Bucky and Steven. And Falcon is amazing i really loved how Falcon and Winter Soldier brought up in the show

Listen, I know you made this video a long time ago, but please do more marvel videos, I loved your take. This also ties in really well to falcon and the winter soldier, imo, because we see how the title of "Captain America" is so dependent on these things you point out, and how important the journey away from government teams was to the character's development. One common thread I saw between Steve and Sam was why they were both chosen. It wasn't for physical ability, although Sam certainly had that from the beginning, it was for moral character, and the superhuman ability to do the right thing (even though you see both of them struggle with it throughout the series), which is exactly what you say here, but i think it was expanded on really well in falcon and the winter soldier. That is probably the most important aspect of the character, I think. Anyway, sorry for the comment, I never know if they're terrible or not, but this video gave me Thoughts, so here we are.

I think it's important to note that the MCU Bucky would turn down the offer to be Captain America before Steve would even be able to make it. Even before the Hydra brainwashing he shied away from the limelight. While Steve made "I don't like bullies" the center of his personality, Bucky preferred to quietly step in and pull his friend out of trouble, from fights and when his family died. Then as one of the Howling Commandos, Bucky was a sniper.
Not to say Sam or Steve are glory hounds or anything, but Sam was comfortable making a big "the bad guys were right actually" speech immediately after debuting as Captain America, and I can't really imagine Bucky doing that.

Winter Solider and Civil War are definitely better than guardians of the galaxy. Falcon's real name is Clarence, he went to a private school. Other than that great video and agree with your thoughts!

As someone who didn't see The Winter Soldier until recently, I didn't get why Sam was chosen. But I recently watched all the MCU movies and realized just how great he is. He was great and now he's even better after Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Before I watch: I think the primary reason they chose Falcon is because 1) Bucky's backstory has already been explored through the Captain America movies, 2) Falcon is a wisecracking MC which Marvel always loves, 3) Wings + shield is just a badass combination so the cool factor is through the roof!

    Minor nitpicks:

Thor doesn't fly. He holds the end of his hammer/ax when he tosses it. He drags.

"He's responsible fir bring yogether all these larger than life people ". Actually, that's Nick Fury's job. The literal leader of the Avengers.

You can "quit" the military if you're commissioned, an officer. Their contract is a bit different than an enlistment.

There were two options to hand the shield to: Winter Soldier or Falcon, both have taken the mantle in the comics.
MCU Winter Soldier or Bucky hasn't been an American soldier for decades, he's spent the last 80-some years or so as a weapon for the enemies of America, and only very recently in his life (Infinity War) regained personal autonomy and displayed any heroic qualities (which he only did briefly to fight Thanos.)
It really surprises me how many people think he should have been chosen. Yes, the metaphorical "red" in his ledger wasn't at his agency, but he's known who he was in MCU Timeline (Bucky, World War II soldier) for only about a year.
Falcon, on the other hand, is a career soldier, dedicates his time to volunteer for social justice issues, and has aided Captain America as an Avenger since Winter Soldier. Not to mention the fact he's stable and measured without the psychological conditioning mess that Bucky's undergoing.
I would be curious to hear reasoning as to why people think Bucky would possibly make a better Captain America (he's stronger then Sam, I guess?). Because in my mind there's not really much competition.

I'm honestly impressed that this video was made last year, the characterization of Sam is spot on even though the Falcon and WS series which made all of this more obvious didn't exist back then.
