What would happen if we were to detonate a very very powerful nuclear weapon on the moon? Would the explosion knock its orbit towards earth, causing tidal waves and misery? Could the moon be destroyed, showering the earth in a rain of meteoric death?

Got prescribed diazepam for insomnia and had a very vivid dream of the moon exploding with debris and ash falling down on earth causing night-like conditions. What a sight! Then I was running for dear life trying to find a bunker. Horrible dream. Have to searched "what if we nuke the moon". Thanks Kurzgesagt!

The Moon is not a natural astronomical body. Astronauts did not land on the Moon. I can say a whole list of things why it is impossible to with the technology they had at the time, but I'm not going to. The Moon is an artificial object, and there are many scholars who have proof for this. The Moon never existed more than 12,500 years ago, but instead an ocean planet called Tiamat (known as Phaeton to some) was destroyed (and humans called it the Moon) whose water fell on Earth, causing floods than created the world's oceans and destroyed civilizations like Atlantis (and Noah's Ark's inspiration came from this). They put an Andromedan biosphere ship there to stable the Earth, especially as many animals were going extinct from lack of light (I'm guessing mammoths, it would make sense).

The word ''disaster'' came from ''des'', short for ''destruction'', and ''aster'' (astro), meaning ''star'' (the destruction of a star, referring to Tiamat). The word ''catastrophe'' also has the word ''astro'' in it.

Ocean creatures were likely seeded to Earth (intentionally brought to new planets to increase biodiversity), or had existed in Earth's previous giant lakes.

I'm working on this explosion that also happened in a non-atmospheric medium in space. Do any of you guys know if the explosion would warm up the moon or it's surface (in my case the meteor)?
p.s. the meteor i study also ejected ejecta.

    Why would we do this.
Even underwater tests is a huge why? Why do we need to measure the destructive impact on an environment instead of just watching the payload go off in space. I think it would be cool to arm a nuke in space and send it off to test it while we safely watch.

Does anybody know how to remove the “promoted products” menu off of a TV screen? 🙁 I keep trying to watch this video but half the screen is blocked by these listings and pushing the “back” button just takes the video off ☹️
