This week I wanted to share my thoughts on the Chase Money Glitch that went viral online. Apparently thousands of people participated in what was pretty much a major crime. Chase bank is one of the first major banks to have this happen in mass with people speculating if the same thing could happen to Wells Fargo, Bank of America, and TD Bank.

Fraud no matter through wire or check is a serious offense that carries with it hefty penalties and extensive jail time and even more so when it is carried out against a financial institution.

The trend started on TikTok with discussion of it spilling over to Instagram and Twitter. What’s particularly troubling is that this was content, that turned to a trend, that is going to result in jail time for, what seems at least like, a lot of people.

No matter if you are getting a loan, a mortgage, or buying a financial instrument like a stock, bond, or fund, it is always important to do your due diligence and not get caught up in the hype.

There are scam artists and fraudulent institutions all over the place and I don’t want to see any of you fall for it.
