Oh god at my highschool we had an athletics day, so everyone had to do all the usual sports. I remember seeing and hearing an ambulance come to one of the fields, and i was nearby on this concreted area by the field and i noticed all this dark stuff on the ground which i realised was blood. A lot of blood. One kid had been doing discus, and either on the pull back of your arm or the actual throw, im not sure which part, but that fuckin thing took out another kid. They lived, i mean i guess they did, we didnt have an assembly about it. They went to the ED (obviously), but there was just so much blood on the ground i was sure the cops were gonna come and out another kid in cuffs for killing a fellow student.

What's even worse is when kids are like Earl. One of my professors told a story about how when his daughter turned 5, he decided he was going to build her a swing set. He brought her to the hardware store as a little adventure. Got all the lumber for the frame and the seat, got the hardware to connect it, got it in the truck, then remembered he needed to get the chains. They went back in to the chain department. The big roll of chain had a sign "Ask Assistant to Cut", so they found one of the dudes with the red vest and he came over and asked how much length he needed. The professor stood there with his arms out as the assistant draped the yards of chain out over them while he was measuring where to cut. Out of nowhere, his daughter put on big saucer eyes and quietly, plaintively said, "You're not going to tie me up again, are you daddy?"

This dude is a industry plant. I've never seen somebody pop-up in my algorithm so much.

I can’t believe I’m gonna say this, but I feel attacked with the Thrower slander. I was a professional athlete. I was a Thrower. It doesn’t sound sexy, but a lot of throwers don’t look like shot put thrower .

What really makes the US the best at the Olympics (and sports in general) is money. Unlike say Canada they put huge funding into their teams/competitors and while they are far from the only countries to do it, much like many things to do with money, whoever has the most usually does the best (this is also why China/The Soviets back in the day do so good but they also take it to the extremes that you can when you have a totalitarian govt lol)

There has to be a laugh track at this place. This guy sits here this whole time tells zero jokes will you please tell me a joke with the punchline ! 5 1/2 minutes in zero jokes🫠
