New Noctule is incredible! For the uninitiated, check out Serena's previous full time band Svalbard who will be much missed. Yet another victim of a music industry that does provide enough of a living for so many musicians no matter how talented they are 😖🤘🏻 And i guarantee you will never meet a more smiley, friendly, polite and all round beautiful soul as Serena Cherry!

The sound effect was cool when the pacing of the show was slower. That's my only feedback about it. Doesn't make or break the show.

Unified – Devouring Plague Of Mediocrity was an absolute hidden gem you should check out.
Cerebral Enema – Atomkrieg Ja Bitte absolute goregroove madness was one of my favourites this week too.
And industrial been eating good with godflesh but Aborym – Metachaos was also insanely good albeit industrial black metal.

Dude, the stinger sound gets a headbang every time! Its like back in the day when no Saturday morning was proper without cartoons and big bowl of cereal, now that atmospheric background piece during the book recommendation is required while I load my listening queue with this weeks homework. 🤘🤘

I see why John Barbas is a metal media guy. He frames a good perspective on how to view certain things in regard to the music itself. Last time I made a similar comment it was about one of his picks for a progressive melodic death metal band where he said, "this band has good progressive elements, but they dont forget the fact that they are first and foremost a heavy metal band". This week his comment about black metal not being diluted but instead framing it as "infecting other genres" is 100% accurate. This ability is what makes him worthy of carrying the torch!

I'm not huge into black metal but that Noctule album is stellar. I'm even more in love with it when I learned it is about Elden Ring.

How the hell is Bloodstain going so unnoticed? Kill em all/ And Justice for all era Metallica with hints of Dio. One of the best new bands in the game keeping the old school feeling new and modern.

To touch on the "Blackened" theme and this week's Dealer's Choice: have you given 'Abstract Void' a listen?
Love your book recommendations, Jon.

You are not kidding with this week just being a massive week in metal releases! I need to check out Noctule, sounds like something I would dig. Even the METALITE is the most power metal album cover, I still dig the record haha! Others acts I loved this week Skumstrike, Watcher, Lacrimas Profundere, Theosophy. Still have so much to listen to tho hahaha
