The Worst Year to Be Alive

2020. The worst year that most of us have ever experienced. A pandemic took the lives of millions, forced us to stay isolated indoors for months, shut down the globe, and forever changed the way we live and work.

Some of us, like Anna Del Priore, who lived to 108, not only experienced the chaos of Covid-19 but ALSO lived through the Spanish Flu in 1918, which killed an estimated 20 to 50 million people around the world. For Anna, the ‘worst year ever’ award might be tough to give.

But what if I told you that there was a time in recorded history that was worse, far worse, than both 2020 and 1918?

I found the covid times to be surreal more than anything. Fortunately i had just started a job in a hospital lab. Driving there was weird. Empty streets, silence…. Just odd.

I didn't come here for Opera marketing. Opera is like news from 1990. It's usually solid but it does the same dumb stuff chrome does. Chrome also has tabs/workspace etc.. Sharing the way you collate data was interesting and I'm going to give your method a good ol' college try… 🦥 #pleasedonotmarketme

Ia the comments really just all kids saying 2020-2021 was “amazing coz no skewl” … wow you lot REALLY don’t know what the world was before and how bad it is now after. Seriously. You have all missed SO much of when things were ACTUALLY good.

im willing to bet if something similar ever happened scientific priority number 1 would be getting the dust out of the sky and we could get it mostly fixed in less than a lifetime

Ever since 2020 every year that I've experienced has been better than the last I mean here in Southeast Missouri there was no lockdown and nothing particularly was changed other than Walmart's weren't open 24/7 anymore so things are absolutely great

Fantastic if this happens again. Giant volcanic eruption after all the particles a certain "philanthropist" wants spread into the atmosphere. What could go wrong – even without a giant volcanic eruption?

Well it's likely that it hasn't been in any of our lifetimes. Thing is people today have grown up in a pretty tame world relative to what it could be and has been. So they dont have a real perspective of how bad bad can get. Its like hearing about Normandy, whatever idea we think we can muster about what it felt like to be there, you can not scratch the surface of what it really felt like. Only way to truly know something is to experience it, n without it your perspective can never be sufficiently indicative of that things true nature.

If it happened again most would rush to Facebook to complain about or TikTok only a very few would put pen to paper so ironically in the future there still maybe more information about 536CE then about any future catastrophe.
