    As a woman born with brown hair that is only slightly lighter than yours, I’d always wanted to be a blonde. I begged my whole childhood for my mom to take me to get my hair dyed, but she never would, saying it would make me look washed out due to my very pale skin. That never stopped me from wanting the hair and right before I turned 21. I finally got highlights, which I will admit looked very nice and finally made me feel like my hair dreams were coming true. Almost a year later when I came back from school, the same hairdresser told me that she will make me a full blonde but only if we did it as dirty blonde in June and full blonde in August. The craziest thing is so many people didn’t recognize me once I was blonde. And, that’s somewhat the point since I hate my image so much and always have since I was little. Maybe I look better with brown hair to some, but I genuinely love being a blonde. Do I still look a little washed out in the face without make up on? Yes. But my fiancé‘s grandmother saw a picture of me with brown hair and deadpan said “you look better blonde.” the blonde plus new glasses and finally learning how to do makeup made me look so different. But I’m never going back to being a brunette when I actually feel prettier as a blonde. I even wrote an entire article about my confidence being boosted with my new color. All of this to say, like you said, is that everything‘s subjective. We all have different images of beauty and seeing things in the world. plus I’ve been a blonde for nearly 8 years now so there are many people in my life who’ve never seen me as a brunette.😂

    Im not sure where, but i feel like theres some roots to white supremacy in how samey they try to make women look and the male gaze shit inherent in the beauty stuff is ugh.

    I feel there is a place for beauty stuff, like makeup and fashion is an artform there is a lot to consider from an artist perspective, but the people doing in a wholesome/educational way use their self as an example and doesnt just Photoshop celebs

    Think of Madonna. People bash her for getting plastic surgery, but they’re harassing others who don’t get it. Also, if Madonna hadn’t gotten plastic surgery, people would say that she isn’t “ aging gracefully” anyway

    Lowkey I was made fun of by family for bein big growing up and was kinda pressured into using ozempic and like…

    Dude I lost like 100 pounds, but I feel worse and don’t feel like myself. Like I’m literally LESS happy. Yet somehow I’m treated better and said I look so healthy. But ALSO I’m a liar and a fraud because I didn’t “earn it”. Just never compare yourself to others. I know it’s a common saying, but comparison REALLY is the thief of joy, and I’ve lived by that since then.

    Not gonna lie tho this musician/youtuber title doesn’t really fit since she makes music on her channel the way rice gum and Logan Paul did. Never considered her a musician really even if she talks about it. And can make music. Because so does every single other YouTuber.

    You look great in both colors. Honestly, I think all of these are BS. Wear what makes you happy. Being confident in your look is my important than what color you choose to wear.

    Whether you like it or not, you will inevitably get older and at some point show or feel signs of aging. And when you're ACTUALLY older, you're very likely going to feel like you waisted so much time obsessing over your age at 21 years old. OK guru time: you're never going to be younger than you are at this exact moment. It's OK to just enjoy life, as much as you can. I know it can be hard and that it's a cliche thing to say at this point, but try to stay off social media for awhile, even if it's just a day here and there.
    I know it can be hard, but I promise you'll feel so much more relaxed allowing yourself to simply exist and I guess naturally age in peace and fkn quiet lol.

    The reason makeup looks different on you than on the ai slop makeover is because you're applying it to actual skin and they're applying to a phone screen. Swiping color over areas of your face that have actual DEPTH and shadows isn't how faces work, it's how fake people on the phone work 💔 They don't really consider the fact that putting concealer over the valleys and peaks of our faces doesn't have that "airbrush effect." I know you already know that because you're really smart but I thought I would point it out because I've never seen anyone say this before
