I read the comments and was surprised. No, not because I hadn't seen this video before. I've known about the Kardashev scale for a long time. I was surprised that no one makes obvious, far-reaching conclusions from this scale. For example: 1. Civilizations of the first and second types will never meet each other, for an obvious reason. They do not have F.T.L. (Faster Then Light) technology. It is not needed or optional to control the energy resources of their own planet (type 1), and even their own solar system (type 2). 2. Civilizations of type 3 and type 4 can communicate with each other, and / or with types 1 and 2, having F.T.L. technology (How else to control a galaxy with a diameter of 100,000 light years?). The question is – why? If you have power over the energy resources of the GALAXY and even more, then you have nothing to talk about with either the first or the second type. And they have nothing to offer you. 3. Civilizations of type 3 and 4 can visit types 1 and 2. But their interest in us is no more than our interest in dinosaurs. They won't even hide (UFOs), but they won't contact either. That's all. I don't know if Kardashev thought about this, but the logic is simple and obvious. Besides, we're still in Kansas, Dorothy. So hold your horses.

the requirements of the kardachev scale is too rosy and unattainable. meaning the idea of what constitutes a civilization level is way off base and very unrealistic.

electric cars are currently in the model T stage. its not currently all that popular right now. that could be a thing in a type 1 civilization.

space travel with in the solar system wold be more with the type 2 civilization.

Pre-cyborg would be type 1 where as advanced cyborg would be type 2

weather modification would be more in line with a type 3 civilization.
space travel outside solar system is type 3.

type 4 – 6 were skipped, mainly because they involve generating immense amounts of energy to do stuff that are god like.

as far as type 7, multiple universes and creating new ones would be a feature of that civilization. they would be almost god-like.

to say nothing of other advanced aliens, who maybe way ahead of us in terms of being an advanced civilization.
