As a non-American looking in, your justice, and electoral systems are seriously flawed, overly complicated, and seem easily circumvented, or misinterpreted. Judges appointed by politicians, as opposed to having to apply for the job, and being employed based on skill, experience, integrity, seems ridiculous, and doomed to fail. Unless you are the one who appointed them. Those candidates convicted, or found guilty of felonies, should not be allowed to be put forward. Also wtf is it all about, when a person can not be involved in politics their whole life, then suddenly is running for President? The majority of our leaders of government have been the party leader and/or leader of opposition, or some high up cabinet position for years. This would eliminate grandstanders like Trump. He'd never stick it out being involved as an opposition leader until the next election. Although our political system is MMP, so the leader of the opposition could, potentially, be a minister w a portfolio while in opposition.
I see too many Americans putting faith in your justice system. You were the first to doubt it. So I had to comment. I feel this scenario will come up again, now it has been allowed. A bit of tweaking is needed, to be fair, but also firm on what is not acceptable.
