Seattle’s Home for Indigenous Voices

Rooted in the Civil Rights & American Indian Movement, the fight for Indigenous rights led to something powerful—Daybreak Star Indian Cultural Center (@daybreakstarradio).

Thanks to Bernie Whitebear and the United Indians of All Tribes Foundation (@uiatf), this once-decommissioned military base in Seattle’s Discovery Park (@discovery_park_seattle) became a cultural home in 1977. Today, it stands as a beacon for the urban Native community—offering social services, cultural connection, and now, its own radio station! WATCH to learn more:
