Ripped by Bowie, Banned from Space: The Psychobilly Cowboy’s Wild Ride

Tome | March 20, 2025

Norman Carl, known as one of psychobilly’s pioneers, had his music banned in space, was ripped off by David Bowie, and effectively “killed” every song he covered—all while trying to create his own, uh… rock ‘n’ roll… cowboy… err… space thing.

And s**** you, Elon Musk, because he launched rockets first.

His spaced-out country-western style, featuring a guitar and a bugle, earned him the moniker “The Legendary Stardust Cowboy.”
