Lesbian Bride Surprise on Living Single
Before anyone had ever even heard of the show Friends, the Fox sitcom Living Single was all about a group of friends living together in a huge apartment in New York. It featured Queen Latifah, a lot of very ’90s fashion choices, and on one episode, a surprise lesbian wedding. In contrast to same-sex-marriage episodes on other shows, Living Single’s characters fully embrace their queer friends — a shift that reflects something much bigger happening in American culture at the time.
