In the early ’70s, in a dark corner of a bowling alley in Detroit, Ernie Uszniewicz, who called himself “King,” was a really lame and out-of-tune rockabilly singer who dreamed of becoming the next Elvis Presley. He led a band called The Uszniewicztones, playing all their songs in the key of E because it was the only key he could sing in.

Saw Brownsville open for Joe Walsh right after "Smokin' in the Boys Room" came out – Joe enjoys a good laugh and a Michigan guy, too, I think – Cub had a hilarious, lengthy, 'rap' intro regardong the fog of pot smoke…and the band surprised everyone by kicking ass, no novelty act here, folks!!

Read the All Music bios of the Collins Kids, Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers, Freddy Cannon and many others- Cub wrote the bio. His writing is fantastic and you get a real sense of who he was.
He ended up cutting rockabilly records really pulling out some cool obscure stuff.
