The first 4 notes in the bass are also the same as in Love Machine by The Miracles 😁. The difference is that the bass also adds a fifth above the fundamental which is very unusual for bass playing.

Why call it a "Rip Off"? There are no original basslines. All songs sound like other songs if you just play the bassline.

I'm going to kindly disagree with you I believe baby be mines was the best song off the thriller album and I personally feel Billie Jean shouldn't have been the song that gotten popular off the album it's self as baby be mine sounded more like it defined the 80s

1:00 – 2:50 The original with the lush chords just shows you how ahead of his time Mike often was in developing his sound. He's had a futuristic sound with certain songs on different albums. The uptempo PYT we all know definitely fits the Thriller album, while I agree that the original one with Greg feels much more 2008, which is why it translates so well with Will.I.Am's production.

Michael had nothing to do with the production or lyrics of PYT. That was written, composed and arranged by James Ingram and Quincy Jones · Produced by Quincy Jones You all are stupid. Back in the day, many artist collaborated on multiple tracks. That's why there was a sound of the 80's like a sound of the 90's, etc. Most of these producers hung out together and collaborated with multiple artist.
