Thanks, Jon, my fellow former Evangelical/now-heathen brother. Excellent primer for the Godless IV show tonight at the Palladium in Hollywood. In addition to Behemoth, I'm super stoked to see Rotting Christ. Taking my 21 year old daughter. She's in for an experience, as this ain't Dojo Cat.

Totally agree with your take! After the show, me and my buddies actually got invited to chill on RC and Immolation's tour bus, very nice guys! We had lots of deep conversations so your take on Sakis is absolutely correct haha I was a Religious studies major in Uni last year, and I had met RC at Milwaukee Metal Fest the same week I graduated. So there I gave Sakis a copy of my capstone paper explaining the man-made origins of the God of the Bible, so I guess he must have liked it! Lol

Also, for Deicide, their merch table was weak but I picked up their Devil's Dick Hot sauce and it's pretty good! I love putting the Devil's Dick Sauce on my Mac and Cheese 😂

You should repent and get back to Yeshua! Listen to Sacrament, and Demon hunter or Tourniquet if you really like good metal. You can Tourniquet is just awesome

I was lucky enough to be around Cannibal Corpse from 89-94 both in the venues and at the parties! So many good times, when Ace Ventura happened it was the end of the street years as far as I feel,Hounding WBNY to play Corpse!!the party on Grant st when the car flipped on its side!! If you know you know!!🤘😝🤘

I'm a Thelemite. Occult scholar, and ceremonial magician for over 30 years. The Satanist is a masterpiece. Unfortunately this is all an image for most bands, nothing more.

I went to that show in San Diego, it was sold out. I didn't get to see Immolation, Rotting Christ was meh, Deicide was decent, but Behemoth was the worst performance I've ever seen from them. The sound was awful, the guitars were out of time, the vocals were inaudible, and even when they played "O Father O Satan O Sun" they messed up several times; they were probably tired. The only good thing about that show was Deicide's habanero salsa. Great pictures

Three and a half minutes in and he still hasn't even begun to say what his theory is, address the title in any way, or seem to be talking about anything in particular at all, he's just naming bands he likes and has seen. WTF?

Such an incredible tour! I was so bummed that Immolation and Rotting Christ ended up with van / border crossing issues in Toronto and we ended up only getting Deicide and Behemoth. Still a great night though. Some really great shots Jon!

"with classics like …" and then proceeds to mention new songs from The Satanist record. It may be 10+ years. But after that record they had this new sound. Classics would be the ones 20+ years ago.

Watain, Marduk, Gorgoroth…you literally named the EXACT bands that came into my head when you were halfway through that sentence 😂

There is no "good or evil," only good and evil people! Metalheads are some of the kindest and most intellectually moral people on earth!!

Hasn’t the satanism gimmick gone on for long enough? Realistically the devil is SOFT. I understand wanting to be edgy and shocking, but it’s just boring 🥱.

I saw Deicide in like 2003 and they were badass. But Behemoth I've seen like 4 or 5 times with the first being with Black Dahlia Murder, Nile and King Diamond and that was such a good show but I loved The Satanist so much that their more recent shows are just as great but for different reasons.
