INFO: Hunky Dory was one of those albums where Bowie proved to people how good he really could be as a musician. He had released 3 solo records before this one but none of them took his career to the next level like this one did. Sure he had a lot of success with the song Space Oddity, but that was his one big hit until this album came out. On Hunky Dory you had Changes and Life on Mars. Arguably two of the best songs he ever made! But it’s not just the outstanding music that’s so interesting about this album. It’s also an album that clearly showcases the early inspiration for Bowie’s next album, the magnum opus that is Ziggy Stardust. In this video we’ll try to examine some of the lyrical segments that hinted to or obviously foreshadowed Ziggy Stardust.
