“The first day I walked into Fraser’s studio, he illuminated this idea,” La Rue recalls. “How companies sell us things we don’t really need by playing into our innate instincts. That concept sparked the song. I’m always seeking ways to write about social structures that pique my interest, while ensuring the song remains wholly enjoyable for the passive listener—this track achieves that perfectly.”
