Don Toliver and Doja Cat Team Up for ‘Lose My Mind’ Off Upcoming F1 the Album

In a tantalizing glimpse of what’s poised to be the film soundtrack of the year, Don Toliver and Doja Cat have unwrapped their sleek collaboration, “Lose My Mind,” from the highly anticipated F1 the Album. Released on Thursday, the cinematic video features a sultry race car dream sequence, perfectly complementing the Brad Pitt-starring film.

Under the direction of Christian Breslauer, the video kicks off with a close-up of a roaring Formula One car, its sleek silhouette juxtaposed with Toliver’s electric vocals. As the visuals morph into an x-ray perspective of the vehicle, Toliver delivers lines that pulse with urgency: “In my world, in my mind, always runnin’ out of time.” A striking pedestal made up of driver helmets further emphasizes the track’s adrenaline-fueled essence.

The dreamlike quality intensifies when Doja Cat enters the frame, portrayed in a surreal, futuristic clip where a pair of robots constructs her as a half-human, half-automobile creation. Draped in shimmering designs by Mugler, she dramatically swings above a pool of car oil, a vivid metaphor for both allure and danger. “You saw me at rock bottom, you wanted a new winner,” she raps with confidence, her flow sharp and introspective as she navigates themes of triumph and transformation.

“Lose My Mind” is set to feature prominently on F1 the Album, the companion LP for F1 the Movie, directed by Joseph Kosinski. Joining Pitt in the film are an ensemble cast that includes Kerry Condon, Damson Idris, Javier Bardem, and legendary racer Lewis Hamilton.

Produced by Ryan Tedder in collaboration with Atlantic Records, the album promises a star-studded lineup and a powerful theme song by the illustrious Hans Zimmer. Slated for release on June 27, it follows the same production team behind soundtracks for blockbuster hits like Twisters, Suicide Squad, and Barbie.

In the wake of this release, Toliver’s last collaboration featured him alongside Speedy, J-Hope, and Pharrell on “LV Bag,” while Doja Cat kept the momentum going with her collaborations on Jack Harlow’s “Just Us” and Raye and Lisa’s “Born Again.” With a new album of her own on the horizon, anticipation for both artists continues to build.

As summer approaches and F1 the Album gears up for its release, “Lose My Mind” stands out as a thrilling, high-octane track sure to be a mainstay on playlists and dance floors everywhere. If this collaboration is any indication, the F1 soundtrack could very well take over the music scene this year.
