Sooo old and irrelevant now, but 100% agree with your take on Colbert. The Colbert report was so unbelievably good, and I was so excited when it was announced that he would be the new late show host. But as a host, he's been soooo boring. But i guess it was doomed to disappoint, because the late show was NEVER going to take the risks comedy central would.

Fallon is the disruptive class clown, Lilly Singh is the new kid who's afraid she'll be bullied so she acts aggro, Conan is the effortless class clown who drops perfect one-liners without looking up from his project, Kimmel is a bully, Seth is the weird artsy kid who makes crazy dioramas, Corden is the bitchy kid who seems nice until you spend more than 5 minutes with them, Graham Norton is the rich kid who's super nice to everyone, Trevor is the kid who wins debates with the teacher, Hasan is the one who just wants to be friends with everyone on their level.

John Oliver is the teacher who actually makes you want to learn, Jon Stewart is the teacher who got fired for encouraging students to break the rules, Colbert is the old substitute teacher who will still remember your name when you see him at a grocery store in a foreign country 30 years after he taught you for three days in fifth grade.

Jay Leno is the retired teacher who thinks he was everyone's favorite, Letterman is the retired teacher who was actually everyone's favorite.

Eddie should’ve mentioned the fact that the time between Conan and Letterman’s debuts was only 11 years, compared to Jimmy and Stephen’s being at least 20 years in their current roles

What I think is the funniest thing about Conan's theater set was the Queen's guard. A person who is notorious for not reacting to anything being one of 2 audience members is historical to me

What elementary school kids are watching Kimmel before bed laughing at their classmate? The kids dont watch the show, otherwise they would realize its a bit while its happening to them….

Sometimes I come back here just to giggle at Eddy blaming Lily Singh for being forced to do monologues and pretaping, as if a female 3AM talk show host would be given a budget or autonomy by NBC Universal

I remember being a teenager and I always thought that the Daily Show with Jon Stewart being /my/ favorite late night show, but my CONSERVATIVE friend liked The Colbert Repor being his favorite late night show. If that isn't an S tier endorsement for Colbert, idk what is.
