Celebrities Who Ruined Their Reputations In An Instant

Weird History | October 2, 2024

Because a positive societal image is so hard to earn, it seems evident that people and companies with an upstanding influence would do everything they could to uphold their social standing.

Still, everyone makes mistakes. While a little “oops” here and there is acceptable – and even expected – this rule is often overlooked when the person or company erring is in the public eye. As social media has grown over the years, these mistakes have become even more prevalent, sometimes causing massive fallouts that damage reputations forever.

Don't ever do anything remotely like treat a dog like a human being and abuse it. Don't even discipline it like a human. You do not appreciate the evolutionary miracle of a dog. Or if you're religious, the will of God…. But the miracle of the dog comes from the Wolf. Despite nature saying it shouldn't trust us, somehow the wolf decided to be our friend. Which led to dogs which means that dogs evolved specifically to be our friends. They understand emotions better than we do because the evolved specifically to read our emotions and communicate with us. You do not talk down or hurt a dog because it might simply not understand but in truth it wants to and it wants to love you and make you happy. That's why wolves evolved into dogs to begin with. So don't ever mistreat a dog

There was another SNL musical guest prior to Ashlee Simpson who did a lot of damage to her own reputation. In 1992, artist Sinead O'Connor, during her appearance on Saturday Night Live, ripped apart a photo of Pope John Paul II and denounced him along with the Catholic Church, much to the outrage (at the time) of the vast Catholic/Christian population. Although in recent years, Sinead O'Conner's criticism of the Catholic Church had been vindicated (more or less due to revelations of horrific misconduct within the church's system/clergy,) her reputation and career suffered a devastating downfall which would not recover prior to her passing.

The only crime of the jewelry guy is that he shattered the illusion. Jewelry is worthless. Almost all of it is junk. The moment you walk out of the door with it, it depreciates in value. It's garbage. It's a gigantic scam that the entire world fell for.

Natalia and her husband weren't only dropped from the show, they were run out of the country Locals yelled at them in the street, people even spat on the ground when they went passed. They lasted a couple of days and fled when they realized an entire nation hated them. It's impossible to get away with such poor behavior in a country with only 6 million people, especially if you're a guest here.

The word "celebrities" is doing a LOT of heavy lifting – but I'm glad you mentioned Gerald Ratner, because before the conference, no one knew who he was, but after no one can forget him!

Everyone keeps bringing up Milli Vanilli not making the list, and you're not wrong, but have some decorum. One of the guys unalived himself because of the fallout from what happened. It would've been beyond classless to put them on the list, and I think "Ashlee Vanilli" is tacky af.
