I was walking home from a friend's house with a group of my friends when we walked past the drive-in that was showing Carrie. I had just happened to be looking up at the screen when the jump scare scene happened.
    I was not ready.

One of my favorite scenes were when the reacher slaps the popular girls and when she encourages Carrie to do a make over!, when she makes fall that bully kid of his bike and of course the prom and grave scenes!! The special effects were way better than today ones πŸŽ‰

I disagree about the "first choice" of DePalma in casting the role of Carrie. His first choice was the actress who played Sue Snell, Amy Irving. It was only until Sissy's audition did he change his mind.

OMG I daw it when it was teleased – my friends and i were 13. The entire movie screamed their head off at the surprise ending. There hadnt been anything like it until then. The whole movie was SO scary. I think it is my favorite Stephen King movie.

I received a copy of Carrie at my 16th birthday party and saw the movie in the theater the next year. The book is what made me a Stephen King fan. Strangely enough, I never noticed that the teacher's name was different in the movie from the book until I watched your video.

For my money, this is the best King adaptation that was ever done. With some minor differences this moves along just like the book. This was the first book I read by Stephen King and certainly not the last. I’m glad you didn’t mention the updated version of this movie because it was too polished and just didn’t feel right. Maybe that’s just me. I was an early reader and I read this book when I was about 10 years old and I saw the movie in theaters and it was incredible.

The end seat by the wall in the cinema was broken, it was just balanced in place. The usher made me move down and sit on it. When the hand shot out at the end of the movie I jumped so much that the seat fell off and I ended up on the floor. I was on a date at the time and he said "get up!"
