Bruce Springsteen to Join Kamala Harris for Headlining Swing State Rallies

Bruce Springsteen Rallies for Change: The Boss Joins Barack Obama and Kamala Harris in Atlanta
In a compelling fusion of music and politics, Bruce Springsteen will take the stage with former President Barack Obama and Vice President Kamala Harris at a significant rally in Atlanta, Georgia, on October 24. This event marks the start of the ‘When We Vote We Win’ campaign—a series of electrifying shows aimed at mobilizing voters in seven key swing states as we approach the monumental election.
Following the Atlanta rally, the trio will hit Philadelphia on October 28 for a second event, showcasing their shared commitment to energizing the electorate. Senior campaign officials hint that additional rallies are on the horizon, with stops likely in battlegrounds such as Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, North Carolina, and Nevada. This campaign trail is poised to be reminiscent of the Boss’s legendary tours, but with a more urgent and purposeful call to action.
Earlier this month, Springsteen made headlines when he officially endorsed Kamala Harris in a heartfelt video filmed at a diner in Freehold, New Jersey. With his trademark sincerity, Springsteen articulated the deep political and spiritual divides facing America, saying, “Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, spiritually, and emotionally divided as it does at this moment. It doesn’t have to be this way.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer voiced support for Harris and gubernatorial candidate Tim Walz, championing a vision for America that respects and includes all people, regardless of their backgrounds or beliefs. “That’s the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years,” he added, tying his musical ethos to a broader political narrative.
This latest endeavor marks a notable shift for Springsteen, who has largely kept his political endeavors at bay during the initial decades of his career. It wasn’t until 2004 that he officially threw his weight behind a political candidate, endorsing Senator John Kerry and campaigning nationwide. At that time, he expressed a desire to maintain his status as an independent voice to his fans, stating in Rolling Stone, “We’ve tried to build up a lot of credibility over the years, so that if we took a stand on something, people would receive it with an open mind.” Since then, the Boss has consistently intertwined his musical journey with his political awakening, advocating for progressive change.
Springsteen’s political presence hasn’t been faint; he campaigned with Barack Obama during his 2012 reelection pursuit and made a notable appearance at a Hillary Clinton rally in 2016. While he missed the chance to support Joe Biden in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, his performance at the Lincoln Memorial on Biden’s inauguration day signaled that the Boss remains committed to the ongoing fight for democracy.
As October heats up and the stakes get higher, Springsteen, Obama, and Harris are gearing up to harness the spirit of the people, urging them to take action and vote. With two rallies set already and more to come, fans and supporters alike can expect an energized atmosphere filled with passion, purpose, and, of course, the iconic sounds of Springsteen’s music, which has always been a powerful anthem for the American spirit.
