Bernard Carr, cosmologist and friend of Hawking, on consciousness and parapsychology

Our brains do not produce consciousness, they ‘filter’ it and consciousness is related to the higher dimensions in string theory. In this thought provoking conversation, distinguished Professor of mathematics and astronomy Bernard Carr explains his theory of consciousness and psi-phenomena.

Right or wrong, Bernard,
neuroscience is not about the meaning of the word 'conscious'.
Neuroscience is about how neurons work.

It doesn't seem that telepathy, precognition, or any Psy phenomena have been conclusively proven to exist. Even if they do, seems likely only some people have those abilities – probably rich people! Also if God exists, he must have enabled people to have them – but would he want people to know they definitely exist, especially if he only let some people have them? I think not, but of course I can't prove that. However, if you are a psychic researcher, be aware that even if "Psy" phenomena exist, God probably would make sure you couldn't prove it.

Consciousness will explain all branches of modern science. The Rig Ved succinctly states that “Knowledge is Structured in Consciousness”. The home of all the laws of nature resides in the pure silent field of universal non-physical cosmic consciousness.

I am working on a hypothesis that is going to explain particle wave duality in a way that expresses that there are even smaller fundamental units of matter and they are malleable and they come together to vibrate a particle into existence
But without the need for higher dimensions and it could be falsifiable in the lab if I'm given the equipment that way I don't spend 20 years down the rabbit hole..
But in my heart of hearts I know that there is an intermediary mechanism between wave and particle just like everything has a natural process of formation
I am a poet not a physicist.
But I am leveraging A.I.
To do my simulations

Wow! Complicated consciousness communicated clearly. Funny how Bernard Carr isn't accepted in physics journals, but Dean Radin's are. These 2 perspectives need to meet.

Makes sense explaining the connection between the Physical and the Metaphysical-Spiritual where consciousness resides-exists. I hope one day they can bridge the gap between God and the natural world.

I follow these types of topics best I can and I really do want to believe in a world beyond our world, I try all types of things, but I am afraid up to date I have not yet experienced anything truly supernatural.

Consciousness is prime, it goes beyond the material world, we experience thoughts feeling and emotion and we know that the past experiences those things is beyond that which those things are,
if we consider the consciousness of the universe it is more than the sum of its parts, there is the concepts that the universe is made up of many beings at different levels of consciousness, which I suggest we observe in the vegetable animal and human kingdoms, and that the mineral kingdom is the substance From which the vegetable kingdom grows, the Animal Kingdom is a precursor to the human kingdom and both of these depend upon the vegetable kingdom. Everything in the universe is in motion, as science tells us we cannot arrive at absolutely zero physically only as a concept. And in the sense where there is motion there is energy and in a very primitive sense life even in atoms. I use the word primitive in the sense that atoms, Subatomic particles are prime. That is first and evolution proceeds as a result of consciousness inherent in the very substance of the universe. !
Sorry if I'm rambling on a bit but if you're interested in any of these concepts
please read the books of John Todd Ferrier !
They give insights into the nature of all spiritual questing which is for the Divine love, this is the essential driving force behind the universe and behind human endeavour, whether it be the love of physics, or flowers or of a human being, or ultimately the in all Life of the planet ! The whole life of the universe perhaps !💙😋💜

A lot of data on altered states of consciousness (mentioned many times in this video) displays the cease of the boundary between the experiencer and one's objects. This data seems to eliminate the question of whether time is the property of the mind or of the reality perceived by this mind—they are just one and the same.

The interesting thing about Bernard Carr's worldview and theories is that they reflect both some aspects of the world and what Bernard is by himself. And thus these aspects of the world are not presented as they are – on the contrary, they are shaped by Bernard Carr. This thing, however, cannot cause any disappointment – we do not have a simple distortion of reality. Instead, we have both data on reality and the data of Bernard's perceiving mind. Seeing an interaction between these two is a great way of knowing how things are.

3000 years ago, one Chinese said, “Word is said, not always Word. Name is named, not always name.”
Our Cells say, “We have no problem to understand nature. What exactly are scientists searching for? What exactly are you guys wanting for? “
Humans seem to like to create some strange ideas to confuse their minds.

A thought about the expanded or compressed time effect. The less closely your consciousness is "linked" to your body, the less it seems to be linked to the passage of objective time. In a near death or out-of-body experience, the sense of the passage of time becomes completely subjective. This is how an individual can "relive their whole life" in a minute, or a whole day goes by in one second.

One thing I wish Physicists would look into is the fact that we all are physical molecules travelling through space at 800km per second (2.8 mil. km/hour). It occurs to me that outer body experiences, intense spiritual experiences that transcend "space and time", meditational experience of the "Unified Field", intuitively to me, at least, seems to mirror exactly the true reality of, literally, flying through space. It is the illusion of "stillness" as some absolute state, thanks to gravity, that throws us. Ironically, it is through stillness, while meditating for example, that one can experience what appear to be "cosmic" experiences, when in fact it seems you are experiencing the truly known state of things. How does the speed we are moving relate to consciousness and does it affect the various states of consciousness we, as a species, seem to have access to?

So I was watching a video yesterday that was discussing the possible correlation between time and consciousness and I noticed something but It could really be a coincidence. The time we use is based off of the sun and all of our activities are based around that. People is also told to worship God on Sunday. I know people used to worship a sun god and I wonder if it’s a coincidence or are people hard core worshiping a sun god and is clueless? What’s your opinion?

Almost nothing can be fully explained. You cant describe gravity to someone, but you can describe the human model of gravity which tightly approximates but does not duplicate actual gravity. When you realize all we create are human models, and understand that computers work exclusively with and inside those human models, it becomes very hard to believe a computer could become conscious. It would not be experiencing or understanding anything beyond the constraints of the models forced upon it
