Baxter Dury Reveals First Album in Over Five Years: Titled Allbarone

Baxter Dury Unveils Gritty New Album with Razor-Sharp Observations

In an exclusive first listen, Baxter Dury reveals the lead single from his upcoming album, a raw and introspective track that captures the essence of existential musings while watching the world drizzle by. “This is the first track that Paul Epworth and I made,” Dury says, noting the synergy they quickly established. “It’s about sitting in the rain outside an All Bar One, contemplating why what just happened, happened in the way it did.”

With a narrative steeped in character studies, Dury’s new material promises to be a provocative exploration of modern society. “It’s kind of a character arc that goes through the whole thing, two personalities,” he explains. “It’s very critical of people, whoever they are—maybe some bloke with a moustache and sockless loafers in Shoreditch, or a fat old Chiswick gangster lording it up in a really comfortable middle-class part of London.”

It’s this unapologetic satire that makes Dury a standout figure in the current music scene. He captures the complicated tapestry of social dynamics with brutal honesty, all while maintaining a flair for the absurd. “I don’t want to say it’s contemporary,” he admits, a rare moment of hesitation for the otherwise outspoken artist. “Because I sound like a cunt using that word. But it does sound really contemporary. It doesn’t sound like a Harrods hamper band made it. It doesn’t sound like a band made it all. Which is what I wanted most of all. It’s just something that’s brand new for me. It’s quite exciting, really.”

Dury is set to take his audacious storytelling on the road, embarking on a UK and European tour that culminates in a highly-anticipated headlining show at London’s Eventim Apollo on 22 November 2025.

The album itself is a diverse auditory landscape, featuring standout tracks such as “Schadenfreude,” “Kubla Khan,” and “Alpha Dog.” Here’s the full tracklist:

  1. Allbarone
  2. Schadenfreude
  3. Kubla Khan
  4. Alpha Dog
  5. The Other Me
  6. Hapsburg
  7. Return Of The Sharp Heads
  8. Mockingjay
  9. Mr W4

Dury’s latest project promises not only a reflective experience but also a visceral pull, pushing the boundaries of what contemporary music can achieve. His bold critiques and unique sound will likely make this album a significant moment in his evolving career.

As he gears up for his tour, fans can only expect the unexpected from Dury, whose knack for wit and observation is sharper than ever. Mark your calendars—this is one journey you won’t want to miss.
