First look at the Pelican River Pack pups a few weeks ago (footage from July 11). Six of the pack’s 7 pups were still alive, which is pretty good, but the really difficult part of summer—mid-August to September—when most pups die is still ahead. Will be interesting to see what […]
Probably one of the coolest moments we have had in the field…stumbling upon wolf pups sleeping at the entrance of their den which was a huge old beaver lodge. On this particular day in early May, we were searching clusters of GPS-locations from a collared wolf in this pack to […]

Crazy footage from about a week ago: a large wolf pack chasing a bull moose! Unfortunately, for some unknown reason, the camera glitched out after recording for 2 seconds, something that rarely happens. However, the camera was back to working just fine the next minute as we caught some footage […]

Montage from an old logging road last summer that was used by many animals, including one fox who seemed fairly adept at catching snowshoe hares!
Excellent footage of the Whiskey Point Pack moving through a snowy northern forest this past winter. The first wolf in the first sequence is the long-time breeding male. He is much larger than the other wolves, his coat has more of a reddish hue, his tail is tipped with grayish […]
This video gives a rare glimpse into the “fishy” proclivities of wolves in our area. The video was taken in spring just a short distance from a creek wolves have fished at for many years. This past spring was the 10th year we have documented wolves hunting and catching fish—a […]
From May: cougar grooming himself after feeding on a GPS-collared deer he killed. We have routinely captured this male on camera over the past 3 months now suggesting he has taken up residency in the area and is occupying a territory (i.e., not wandering like dispersing males typically do). Note: […]
Don’t be deceived! This wolf used its good looks and cute behavior to move in close, and then just when its victim had let down its guard, the wolf launched a vicious and merciless attack. Luckily, this victim is a survivor and only sustained some flesh wounds…nothing a little bit […]
