AMON AMARTH The Allfather Awakens REVIEW + Albums RANKED
Amon Amarth helped define the melodic death metal and Viking metal sound with their combination of crushing riffs, infectious melodies, death growls, Norse mythology, and epic battle atmosphere. But how does their full discography hold up? Which albums are classics, which are merely good, and when did the band’s formula start to lose some of its intensity? @AmonAmarthOfficial #amonamarth #vikingmetal #melodicdeathmetal @metalbladerecords

I take it you're not big on Escape the Fate but would love to see an album ranking of them with the new album, its actually pretty decent!

Damn, shows how opinions can vary too. I thought Great Heathen was the best since Twilight. Deceiver was underwhelming to me. Looking forward to hearing more of this new one…outside of that acoustic track 😭

I could never fully get into Amon Amarth aside from the song Death in Fire, and even then, I don't go back to it often, and it just makes me want to listen to better bands doing the same thing. That said, I will give Once Sent From the Golden Hall a listen to see if I can finally understand the hype.

Unfortunately their best since Deceiver. It’s good, but just doesn’t pack the same punch

Great review though Týr does it so much better.

Never heard of this band, will now!
Edit: guys this is a Swedish melodic death metal band with a name that references a LOTR thing that one won't know unless they read the books and remembered all the elvish names of places, it's not that surprising that I've never heard of them surely?
