Abbie Ozard Illuminates with ‘everything still worries me (cosy sessions)’ EP

In a move that showcases her distinctive blend of heartfelt lyricism and intimate melodies, Abbie Ozard has graced the music scene with her latest offering, ‘everything still worries me (cosy sessions)’. This EP features acoustic renditions of songs from her debut album, alongside an uplifting new single and a nostalgic cover of The Sundays. With this project, Ozard invites listeners into a stripped-back world of emotion, vulnerability, and warmth.

The standout track, ‘you’re like the sun’, serves as the EP’s beacon of light. “It was an idea that I had started while I was writing the album,” Ozard reveals, “but I only got around to finishing it recently. I really wanted to get it out there.” The song is described as an anthem for those who don’t recognize their own value, evoking the quiet strength of those who lift others up. “I hope this track can also bring a bit of light and warmth right now,” she adds, hinting at the emotional resonance the song carries in today’s tumultuous climate.

Accompanying the new single, Ozard has included acoustic versions of some of her favorite tracks from her debut album. These renditions provide a fresh perspective on her work, showcasing the songs in their most organic form. “A lot of the songs on the record were written acoustically, so it only made sense to strip them back to the bare bones,” she shares. This commitment to authenticity shines through, allowing the intimacy and depth of her songwriting to take center stage.

Among the EP’s included tracks, the cover of The Sundays further demonstrates Ozard’s ability to reinterpret the sounds that have influenced her. With her own unique take on the ethereal melodies that defined the Britpop era, she breathes new life into the classics, creating a bridge between generations.

To celebrate the release, Ozard will hit the road for a series of live performances, promising fans an opportunity to experience her music up close and personal. The tour kicks off on November 20 at the iconic King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut in Glasgow, before continuing to Leeds, Manchester, Bristol, and wrapping up in London on November 26.

With ‘everything still worries me (cosy sessions)’, Abbie Ozard not only reaffirms her place in the contemporary music landscape but also invites her audience to explore the nuanced spaces of vulnerability and connection inherent in her art. The EP is available on all streaming platforms, and its poignant exploration of life’s tender moments is a soundtrack for anyone seeking solace amid uncertainty.
