Somehow, 2001 was 25 years ago…say WHAT?! Yup, 2001 is officially retro now and this one is for the millennials and all fans of nostalgia
This set includes 70 minutes of television commercials recorded in 2001, presented straight from dusty original VHS tapes from my vault of awesomeness.
This was the world of dial-up internet, DVDs, CD players, flip phones, early digital cameras, PlayStation 2, chunky desktop computers, pop stars, fast-food promotions, movie tie-ins, dot-com’isms, and that unmistakable frutiger aero Y2K aesthetic that seemed completely normal at the time. VHS was still hanging around while DVD was rapidly taking over.
And nobody watching these commercials in 2001 thought they were looking at something that would someday feel vintage…yet here we are.
So grab a snack, forget that your phone can access the entire sum of human knowledge for a little while, and come spend 70 minutes back in 2001.

7:41 Dang, Mike's Hard Lemonade retro commercials 🍋🤔 I didn't realize until just now that these being aired today would likely get under some Karen's or Carl's errr Kyle's (whatever) skin and probably ignite a protest to occur to get these videos taken off the air and do away with these types of advertising techniques 🐟😒😳 lmao

I must've blocked out that Dorito's has been doing mind-numbingly stupid commercials for most of my life.
Even when I was a kid I knew those Herbal Essences ads were wild.
I'm glad I never saw Jurassic Park 3 in theaters. As far as I'm concerned, that movie doesn't exist. RIP Sam Neil.

4:25 I still have my Motorola RAZR flip phone, another one can't remember what it is but it's a smaller flip, and also my first phone, a Motorola T-A-C 200. Battery still works and makes calls. I tried it and dialed 611 and someone answered and I talked with them telling them I was just testing my old phone and they could hear me lol
