If you want to keep your audience, cut the ai voice. We get that it‘s easier more efficient to let an ai voice talk for you, but no one likes that. We want a human voice!

This is a purely American issue. America is just one country. This does not include the rest of the planet. You guys should figure it out. Freedom has the inherent risk of bad actors. Open weights is the AI version of freedom. The whole planet has different mechanisms of controlling bad actors. We need an AI FBI or intelligence agency type organisations.

Your real voice is actually so much more pleasant than an AI voice. You can really feel the difference. Your real voice has more nuance, more depth, and more emotional information/cues. But with an AI voice, all of this is lost

Genuine question for everyone calling this a moat play. Does any of it change what you can actually ship this week? I build on these models daily and the lab drama has never once decided whether my work went out the door. Does anyone's real workflow shift based on which lab is winning the narrative?

How can dareo say that open weight models would lead to an authoritarian state, when he’s championing restricting intelligence only to the largest most powerful companies and governments, he’s creating the pathway to an authoritarian state by trying to restrict public access to these models

Governments and Corporations CANNOT be trusted with gatekeeping AI or anything else. Who on Earth would ever think that is a smart idea knowing history?
The source of danger needs to be public so that we don't get permanently enslaved by governments as technology makes biological resistance futile, and our labor worthless.
So yes, even dangerous weapon grade AI capabilities should be in public hands.
And all robotic automation should be under the independent control of communities, using a small local server cluster, so governments and corporations don't have the power to control the future.
A free people should be the ones in charge of governing their own future. Shocker.
Traditional governments and for-profit Capitalist systems can bite the fucking dust.

So they way I see it, we should model weight like we do with medicine.
We allow a monopoly for X amount of time, after that, recipe is released and anyone can use it.
And due to how fast AI is moving, so a 6 month to a year foothold above everyone else is good enough.
