It's already been directly pointed that this is censorship towards what people can post and see. Has nothing to do with protecting children, and I would argue that it also doesn't really have anything to do with porn. This is about politics! None of this stuff was an issue until the world became more aware about the horrible crimes going on in Palestine. People have figured out our government is already bad but it was much worse than we thought, Israel is bad, Russia is bad, and all the people that the United States told us are good are actually really bad and all the places that the United States told us was bad or actually good like Cuba.
But we've seen this before, right? Remember a few years ago when they effectively blocked sex workers from the internet for the most part under the guides of protecting children, when really it just harmed people consensually doing sex work along with people being exploited by human trafficking? But people didn't care because it only really affected sex workers. The biggest visible loss from that one was the craigslist posts, on a mainstream scale. But now they're ramping it up to affect everyone, and now people care. Not caring about other people's rights is how you lose yours. That's the lesson we need to learn.
