Times People Have Sued GOD | Tales From the Bottle

Qxir | July 27, 2026

Can you still get in to heaven after taking God to court? These people apparently didn’t care.

“Lawsuits against supernatural beings, such as God or the devil, have occurred in real life and in fiction. Issues debated in the actions include the problem of evil and harmful “acts of God”.”

True story. God was almost sued in Sydney Australia in the 1980's. There was a freak tornado in the Sydney suburb of Mosman which severely damaged several homes and one insurance company refused to pay because it was deemed the damage was "an act of God". I lived nearby and attended a dinner party and met a prominent Sydney barrister. I brought up the fact that one of the homes damaged by an act of God and the owners were…Catholic. I reasoned that the Pope is God's representative on Earth and as the insurance company named God as the party responsible for the damage, then the Pope could be sued for the damage…or rather the local representative of his Holiness, the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney could be sued. Having thought about it the barrister said yes, there are legal grounds to sue the Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney for the damage, however nothing came out of it.

God would have to prove he exists to pay out….
With that move, he would cease to exist….
    Not a winning strategy….
    Faith….
Without that, it's just another cult….

This court holds that based on the classical definition of God being all good, powerful, and knowing and the source of all sovereignty that this case falls under eminent domain and God shall compensate her in this life od the next.

3:32 yea romania has about 8-14k homeless people and population of 18.8 milion thats 0.0744% of the people… And the great america has 745k homeless out of the 349 milion legal people thats 0.195% of the people.

"The gratest country in the world" has 2.5 times more homeless people per capita…. I think they care more about homeless people….

6:05 I think I know whats going on here and I'm kinda mad I never thought of it. I'm an American ex-convict, I did time in prisons where you only got out of your cell 1 or 2 hours a day, and if I would've sued god, I could've gone on field trips back and fourth to the courthouse, gotten to see the free world, and most importantly; gotten to entertain myself by making a joke out of the American legal system (which is already a sick joke in and of itself).

This guy was probably just bored from sitting in prison, but considering that prisons in America tend to be the mental hospitals of the financial destitute, he might've just been clinically insane. Probably an healthy mix of both 😆

wasn't there a plaintiff who argued that God is omni-present, and so he can be served at any address, then added that God is omniscient, which means he would know he's being served without actually being served?

Why not sue the pope as the self proclaimed representative off god? Either the pope says he was lying or they stick to the story and get sued.

Here's an interesting twist to this tale.
Although you can't sue God in jurisdictions like California and Arkansas there have been British common law jurisdictions that have assigned some Gods legal personhood. During the British Raj period in India the land and assets of certain temples was declared to be property of the deity, and not the human manager who collected donations and was responsible for the upkeep. Thereby aggrieved worshippers could file suit against a corrupt manager for theft and misappropriation. Particular points about theology, like who was allowed to worship there were ruled out of the courts purview, that sort of stuff was strictly the God's business.

I find it amusing that you can't sue god or give him the title to your own property because he can't physically accept it or agree but you have to swear on a bible about God to prove that your telling the truth….

    😂😂😂😂
