The Last Days Of Henry VIII

Weird History | July 20, 2026

Ravaged by illness, consumed by paranoia, and fully aware that his reign was coming to an end, King Henry VIII spent his last days doing everything he could to protect his son Edward’s future ascent to the throne. But as they often did with Henry… things got bloody and people got executed.

LAST DAYS is Weird History’s prestige format series focusing on final chapters, deaths, downfalls and conclusions. In this premiere episode, we examine the shocking true story behind Henry VIII’s last execution, the brutal politics of the Tudor dynasty, and the dark final days of one of history’s most notorious monarchs.

Do you think Henry was paranoid? Or was he right to be worried about Edward’s reign? Let un know in the comments.

(Much like real history, this video was produced entirely by human beings.)

I love this! I do enjoy your other videos that put a more comedic twist on the history while the narrator has a sarcastic tone of voice, but this is a nice change of pace. It's darker, Henry VIII was a screwed up man, so it's only natural his death would be just as screwy. I look forward to more in the series!

I agree with the other comments – turn the music down.

Or better yet, get rid of it altogether!!

Edit: Never mind, after the the first minute or two I was actually diggin' the music. 😅 Just turn it down, please!

Contrary to what you suggest, it didn't 'pain Henry to do so' when he sought a divorce from Catherine of Aragon. Henry was a completely selfish, thoroughly objectionable man, whose self-centred actions never caused him the slightest bit of remorse. He was clearly besotted with Anne Boleyn, and what Henry wanted, Henry got.

That's good and didn't disappoint didn't expect it to happen but did and really also must be very bad with Henry VIII aside from being his wives or finding out you were descended of that or his workers can only wonder about the descendants reactions on that.
