Snooze…….I Mean Muse!
Last Friday, Muse released their 10th studio album, “The Wow! Signal”.
Named after a radio signal detected in 1977, the album explores themes of cosmic mystery, existential hope and the human search for contact… Today I’m reviewing one of its tracks: “Nightshift Superstar”. I think it demands more guitars, drums and rap. What do you think?

And by mere coincidence at 11:20, after Jutin's restaurant rap, a waitress appears to be spinning out of control🙂↔️

I think the Muse album is ok. There's some songd I really like, some I dislike. Nightshift Superstar is definitely one song I skip, can't stand it. I prefer their more guitar based songs.

I can not wait for muse to react to your new song Justin or even listen to it lol. 😂

This review kind of comes off as sour grapes from a far less successful performer. Personally I love that Muse experiments. with different genres while still sticking to their core style.

I'd rather listen to Justin sing about probes

Hawkins no, your band for most rock lovers sat where you would go and take a look if you if you had nothing to do at the 5pm slot at a festival. Muse closed festivals. Your pub metal on steroids could never get near the innovation, courage and musicality of Muse.

The 'drop' is when it comes back in!
Also, this song is horrifically awful. As are Muse in general.

A big part of Muse fandom hated The Will of The People, I loved it. A big part of the fandom says this is the best in years. Some songs are great, this one… Belongs with Dua Lipa unfortunately 😅

Haven't listened to the album but this song doesn't sound anything like Muse. Honestly haven't listened to them in years though. Think I just grew out of them

Space rock?? It sounds like someone asked AI to write a song around the Stranger Things theme.
What bass line? Go listen to the Meters.

Dearest Justin: In stead of doing that beat box – rap parody, why don't you look into a video or two on where those genres stand today?
Like Mad Twinz x Zhang Ze x Alexinho (collectively known as FREQUENCIES) "Omen" Or "Sacred" or the wonderful live hip hop mash up featuring the least angry Slim Shady in history; All can be found on the You Tube channel of the "Mad Twinz".
Please?😄

A guy at my church was like… “the new Muse is amazing.” I’m thinking I’m gonna hear a hard rocking album… nope… it’s this crap.

If you had watched the video for "Cryogen" before "Nightshift Superstar", you would have been able to see a connection or two, because context & story.
This is the one disco-ish, pop-ish song from the album, not at all the most representative.

I much prefer Muse back when they were reflective alternative rock with fuzzy classical with all the fun sci-fi dynamics, darker, more spacious.
Now all their stuff just sounds like 80s Techno Synth Pop with some Butt Rock riffs with songs to do with conspiracies and drones.
To me it doesnt SOUND like Muse anymore 🫤

It's OK but having Harmar Superstar as a guest vocalist would've improved it 1000%.

A band that's capable of going in all sorts of directions. I actually thought it was quite catchy – like an electro-funk disco hybrid. Think the last album I bought was the resistance? Expecting the band to want to be the same as they were on Origin or Absolution is naive, they live it, they want to evolve. Bellamy reminds me a bit of Daniel Johns of Silverchair in that regard.
