Too bad you didn't get to talk about Astral Alchemy. You catch the deathcore breakdown in the middle of the album, complete with pig squeels? Odd for a black metal album but kinda works.

Glad to see you back Lindsay. These are some great selections that I'll have to check out. Might I recommend 2 Icelandic black metal bands in Forsman and Vafurlogi. Both bands use a bit of dissonance, Forsman much more than Vafurlogi. Vaflurlogi definitely have a more melodic edge and considered to be on the orthodox Icelandic black metal side. My last recommendation is Italian atmospheric/folk black metal band Duir. Their album Catarsi is based around a young soldier experiencing WW1.

ZØRZA – Twilight of the Golden Star is incredible, been listening to that one a lot. Dragsholm – From The Bloodlines of Bram sounds awesome, definitely checking it out. Yay more bloopers "words are hard" lol
