27:30 Flashbacks to my Master's thesis of the literal same thing. Unfortunately, the person responsible wasn't just a "we fire them" situation, because it was *intentional from them, and proceeded to spread lies fueled by everyone's shock to thoroughly firestorm the production.
We somehow recovered and had a wonderful new crew a few weeks later, but jesus that was a mess – can't imagine something of even larger scale like Abi's 😢

I'm surprised that there's a noticeable consistency within regions for the lesbian manicure to refer to two specific nails
I always figured it would refer to the middle finger, and then the index/ring finger would be chosen based off the individual's own usage (I'm pretty sure I'd always do ring finger myself, but it's been a while since I've been able to gather data on that)

So. I’ve been thinking about “women safe spaces” being toilets. Men have clubs, with bars and food. Women have toilets, that’s subjugation right there. We can do better. I’m concerned about how women’s toilets are going to be segregated for trans women. Is there a risk that cis women will be required to demonstrate that they are cis? Doesn’t this constitute abuse on women? Isn’t this instigated by those cis women who claiming to protect cis women and their “safe spaces” by excluding trans women? As a cis women, I am more afraid of using public “ladies” than I was when trans women were able to use the facilities unchallenged. When it wasn’t ok to question your right to be there. I guess your YouTube essays allow me to think and learn. Thank you.

Cathy looks at Belle and Faye, and thinks they are ‘goth’. As an old Goth this exact scene happens often in goth/ alternative clubs, in the ladies, where lots of convos as well as hair and makeup occur. Occasionally a ‘normie’ gets dragged into a nightclub, and the look they give in the ladies loo, and then the giggles from the regulars is precisely what you captured in that scene!

I like the idea that kathys just upset due to the public indecency, "theses kids kissing in the bathroom of a nice restaurant! how rude!" like she'd have the same reaction to a heterosexual couple. I like it because of the world it imagines. like yes a trans women is in the bathroom, yes shes kissing another women, but the REAL problem is that their blocking the DAMN door! fantastic film

I honestly really struggled to get through watching Drac's Ex purely because I've known people like Belladonna and every moment spent in their presence was just pure discomfort. A+ on the accuracy of that portrayal!

My partner and I really enjoyed the Acolyte! The story is creative, and draws you in right away. The look of the show is gorgeous. Amandla Stenberg's performance was fantastic. I also thought their fight scenes were so good. And it was so fun to see you in it! Though in the first episode, my partner was like "Oh, is that her?" and I had to say "Noooo… that's Trinity from the Matrix?" 😆
He's a huge Star Wars buff and I've been getting into it over the years, and after the episodes, we would chat about how the show fit into the broader lore. Super fun!
It was probably my second favourite Star Wars thing I watched this year. (Please don't take this to heart – it's not any of the creative team's fault that The Acolyte didn't make to #1 for me – just bad luck as I also saw the Star Wars Holiday Special 😍)

Please make a video on immgrants, immigration, labeling someone as alien and people having strong opinions as in if you leave the country you have to be prepared to face the consequences? Whereas the consequences of not leaving the country would've been worse? I don't think I am able to make myself clear but I hope you get the gist. I am talking about all this in context of US and people immigrating to US for a better life

I guess, for the record…I'm against all forms of state violence and structural disenfranchisement even for the worst kinds of people. I believe even the worst kinds of people can and do change, at least in some cases. I don't support carceral feminism. I don't support state violence towards criminals, even the worst kinds of criminals. In an American context I believe these systems are unconstitutional. I also believe they are actually not empirically proven to do what they are supposed to do (keep children safer). I have seen no empirical evidence to convince me of this. They just punish, and punish after the prison sentence has been served. That's double jeopardy. I guess the UK doesn't have an American (USA) Constitution, so only some of the stuff I have said would apply (the more philosophical stuff). I don't believe retributive violence towards sex offenders. I believe in punishment, and then rehabilitation, which is possible in some cases. I support systems of non-violence.
