Oli Sykes Was Warned This Would End His Career

Rock Feed | July 2, 2026

Oli Sykes has revealed the real story behind Bring Me The Horizon’s new track “Dehumanized” — and he says it was born from a warning that a peaceful gesture on stage would “most likely carry career ending consequences.” He did it anyway. Here’s the full story, in his own words.

Win win for me. BMTH's music didn't really resonate with me personally cause so many bands sounded just alike through that time and really for some odd reason the vocals I didn't like the most. I could of listened with friends maybe but their lack of the Truth and knowledge of his word and instead them ignorantly believing words of the evil world shows me they're ain't much to him or them…

Their first two albums were the only ones I really enjoyed. That’s cool that they are doing some more Deathcore stuff. It would be even more cool if they were getting away from all that Butt Rock music they have been putting out all these years.

Thank GOD oli did the brave thing and said the thing that every other person in the world is saying.
It takes a real man with conviction to maintain and preach the single most popular opinion in the modern media landscape.

I like bring me the horizon but jfc the martyr complex of these celebrities is so painfully ironic.

Suppressing our humanity happens everywhere: in politics, in conflicts between rich and poor, between men and women, in racism, anthropocentrism, and even in sports events. Every clash between groups—if taken far enough—risks becoming violent. And the only remedy is to widen our circle of compassion. But before we can do that, we need to recognize the value of walking in each other's shoes, which is something I don't see happening anytime soon. Nevertheless, it's the truth: the only way forward is to see the value in others. And I am not talking only about humans. In fact, it is even more urgent that we show compassion toward other species, because they are exploited, violated, and killed on a scale and at a rate that no other group of beings has ever faced. And unlike oppression happening far away, where most of us can do little to help, injustice toward animals is happening right in front of our noses, and most of "civilization" is complicit in it.

This song DEFINITELY meets the moment that we're in right now.
That we are shunned for mentioning that Zionists of Isreal are the modern day Nazis and Palestine will be FREE ✊️ 🇵🇸

He doesn't care about the violence. He's just virtue signaling. If he cared about lives in general he wouldnt be waving no flag on stage and wouldn't take side in this war because both sides are doing horrible things.

Well I’m sure it was a record label exec to give him a warning since they are just idiots who know nothing of music just someone’s art to sell to the masses. Oli can do whatever makes him write music since his fandom will always support BMTH. Seen them 2x and it’s always been an amazing show!

That novel is far more disturbing than that music video, in Spanish and in English, and the eating human flesh isn’t even the worst part. After you read it, you’ll wish you hadn’t. It is definitely a novel that will change your life, and a novel you will not ever forget.

Ironic it was a music festival where people were slaughtered and kidnapped. That seems fine. Trying to be openly gay or Jewish in Gaza and see how that goes or practice free speech against Hamas or any number of liberal activities… but they never did anything…

Funny how oli is against human suffering / genocide but didnt say anything about how hamas terrorists were the ones who launched a surprise attack against israel mowing down. Torturing raping killing and executing thousands of civilians but yeah lets raise a flag for palestine.

If people would make even the slightest effort to think critically they would realize who is actually to blame for the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The civilian population had more than enough time to flee to a friendly neighboring nation. The problem with that is no neighboring nation would allow them in. That doesn't mean that the Israeli government is innocent of the things they are being accused of doing. Personally, I would love to see the entire administration thrown in prison.
