You are speaking so much crap. They do not call anyone coloured or mulatto in the UK. Black is black, white is white, and mixed is just what it is: mixed.
Whatever the police think doesn’t matter. You don’t get to talk about people’s mixed-race experience when you are not mixed yourself. It’s insane to say that whatever the police think is what you are, as if there are no other experiences outside of police interactions.
Regardless of what you and the police think, mixed is mixed.
You sound like the kind of black person who says, “We are all mixed,” or “My great-great-great-grandmother was mixed,” out of your own insecurities surrounding mixed-race people and the fact that you’re not mixed yourself.
Let people be mixed if they’re mixed. It’s okay.
It’s funny that only black people have this kind of conversation about being mixed. Asians and whites don’t care, nor do they pressure their mixed-race friends or family to accept being white or Asian. Only black people do this, and it’s sad.
Just be your proud black self and stop pushing your blackness on people who are clearly not fully black. What’s there not to get?
Obama is called black, yet he got to be president because he is mixed race, a position a fully black man will never get. Make it make sense, people!
They see, know, and understand what mixed race is, regardless of what they call you, and this includes the police.

Vin doesn't want ppl to know he's black.
Mariah can pass for white???? Since when?
That perspective was most likely began as a kernel of colorism from their parents.

In Jewish culture if you’re not born to a Jewish mama youre a zera which means seed and not a full Jew. (Definitely tied to eugenics.) And you won’t be considered Jewish until you finish school and have your mitzva. Whereas if you do come from a Jewish mama youre are Jewish no matter what, the mitzva is just a coming of age celebration. I was born to a Jewish dad and non Jewish mom with my dads family being the ones we were in close proximity to. My bubby and some other family members have definitely treated me differently than my cousins or full Jewish heritage. My grandma would take my cousins on trips with her and my grandpa growing up but would not tell my parents about these trips until they came back. I was never allowed to be the first to break halla during holidays even though im the oldest of my cousins, or given a silk scarf for my hair at temple, I would use one that my mom got me and my bubby would always comment on how it’s not authentic. No matter what I always felt like I was cosplaying. It felt weird growing up as the different one in a very religious Jewish family. There was always a lack of truly connecting to or being accepted by my elders.

whoever or however you found out that in the UK we call biracial people coloured or mullato is wrong af, it used to be caste, but its rather ethinicity based for example if your half Somali/Nigerian, you would probably just say that instead of black or you could be bi-racial/mixed race.

the funny thing that always gets me about these biracial conversations is theyre always so limited to black and white. people see biracial and never see any other combination but black and white.

Never understood the issue with calling biracials what they are, biracial. They are white AND Black. They are not Black OR White. They’re both. Their own racial group with their own unique experiences

That's because Biracials are not black, nor are they White. In history, they just called them Mullato or Mullata. The same thing applied for Multi-generational mixed people. For example, Obama would be considered the first Biracial or Mullato president. Steph Curry, who has a mullato parent, would just be called Mullato. Celebrities such as Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Dwayne Johnson, Halsey, and Mariah Carey would also be considered as such. In history Biracial/MGM's were there own race of people. Over seas, they still are. It wasn't until America created the "One drop rule". Only in America, they still call Biracial/MGMs black.

It was wild to hear that younger people are using the 'birth mother race= child's race' thing- that was literally how the US census determined the official race (and therefore rights) of mixed race people going back through slavery.
I'm privileged enough to watch Finding Your Roots consistently; that's largely why I know about both that rule and that on average African American Black people have about 1/3 white or European DNA.
But most guests are shocked by that, and I haven't seen it brought up or discussed elsewhere. Partly because of the extremely complicated, intentionally hidden, visceral, and personal things that that implies.
