I'm glad you didn't go overboard on the politics here. Yes, the elites do indeed preach to us, but given the crisis created by Trump, this has become less of a concern for me. Even before him, when Stephen Harper suppressed research on global warming, my "change" from conservative to liberal began.

So sad, said it was honoring the East Indians that fought in the Canadian army in World War Two. BUT there was only about 20-30 East Indians in the Canadian army at that time. Where are we going Canada

As a Jew living in Montreal, I want to point out two things:
1. Hanukkah is a minor Jewish holiday that just happens to fall out around Christmas; hence, its elevation into a "major" Jewish holiday especially in places like North America).
2. LĂŠa Roback was actually Jewish – the daughter of immigrants from Poland – as opposed to French Canadian like the other two Quebec women featured on the French Canadian stamps in 2023. She did, however, grow up around Quebec City (a much less anglophone area) even though otherwise she lived in Montreal much of her life. (Also, as pointed out in the video, another author – not Jewish – honoured as a French Canadian in a stamp in 2024 is of Haitian, not de souche French Canadian, origin.)

It is so phony the way government "recognizes" various groups. Francophone and Indigenous nobodies get stamps. Yet nothing British is promoted beyond the monarchy.

I know that in the US, you could only put deceased people on stamps (or money). As far as I know, that rule still holds.
In Canada, it seems that (with the obvious exception of royalty), they had the same rule. Apparently it was rescinded.

I find it very disappointing that the amount of Acadian recognition that your youtube channel shows. Been watching for a while and I love all your vids but one thing leaves a bad taste in my mouth every now and then and its the way you seem to make Quebec seem like the only province with dense francophone populations whereas New-Brunswick, being very small in comparison, still has a very large amount of french speaking Canadians. The Acadian culture and people are very proud to exist in great quantity, and our people have been the backbone if this country from the very beginning. The lack of recognition stings and briefly mentioning the authors, with Antonine Maillet being such an important figure in east coast Canada, is a little disappointing.
Fun story is that one of her books was supposed to be sent in space by a NASA branch in Canada but it was too heavy so they sent a sticker of the Acadian flag instead. Lots to talk about on the east coast, donât forget to mention us because we represent a solid chunk of our population between the 4 maritime provinces. Vive lâAcadie!đľâď¸âŞď¸đ´

Great cultural assessment. You clearly articulated the incongruity of post modernism in Canada. The programed Orwellian nature of "the government" dictates what the culture will be is hyper intersectionality; which is what has set the terminal course the nation is on in 2025

As a former colector of Canadian stamps, I was delighted by your video. You did a nice survey of what Canada Post has done over the years, and why. You asked for suggested stamp topics to cover in the future. One such topic might be stamps issues that included a number of stamps with errors in the printing or text, making them highly prized by collectors and high in collector value. One example is the St. Lawrence Seaway issue with an inverted image. Keep up the great work, J.J.

Im surprised that most Canadian stamps donât show their monetary value. That definitely sets them apart from the stamps I have seen from other countries.

I think Denmark has a very similar thing, also having stamps featuring culturally significant things going back at least 100 years, often to commemorate, celebrate or highlight something. A lot of them are monarchs, famous people, architecture, nature and animals, but there's also many with Danish design, children's books, movies, folk costumes, and of course with Legos on them. There's also several for different associations and charities, like the arthritis association, blind association and the heart association. We've also had citizen contributed stamp designs several times, like a drawing competition to design a stamp, and a competition for people's dogs to be featured đ

as an albertan, the way the fed represents the french Canadians is abominable. as a western separatist any thing that weakens the eastern separatists is bad as its also bad for western separatism.
the fed has mandated the learning of Quebec French, this has not created Quebecois diaspora in the west…
