4:43 Yes, actually. There was this old guy on my street growing up that would literally do this.
I also have a friend who's neighbor recently got in trouble with the law after they set illegal traps for squirrels because they kept messing up his lawn.
No. I am not joking. People are awful.

My grandfather had a ridiculous rules for my friend (his neighbour) cutting his lawn. So I bet he was one of those old guys. He wasn’t sad though, he was rich and spent all his time with his wife.

I kid you tf not, when I was 7 or 8, this movie played at my neighbors halloween party. I got to the part where the old man died before leaving the party and I was SO SCARED TO GO TO BED that I just lied awake, terrified, until 1AM

I never finished this movie as a kid. My teacher put it on for the class in grade 4 I think. I was terrified and left before it finished. The teacher told me the house was actually friendly and just wanted to play and I believed that for years until I found videos on the movie and learned the real ending.

Random thought. With how good CGI is nowdays I wonder what it would be like if there was a live action adaptation. Like if they turned it into a real horror movie, if the right company did it, I think that would be really cool.

My cousin liked this movie and I basically larped on it like "oh yeah I like that movie too" knowing damn well I'd only seen the first 5 minutes. One night we were at our grandma's hosue around October of 2013 (so I would've been 7) and it was on in the background while we played, I hardly even paid attention to it, but I had the misfortune of looking up at the TV right when the house started to get up and it genuinely scared the shit out of me. I didn't say anything but I faced the complete opposite direction of the TV until I knew the movie was over, and for the next few weeks after that I was really creeped out by houses at night. Then I forgot about it for years until Halloween night of 2018. After trick or treating we stopped at Walmart to get some things and we ended up in the electronics section. I looked at the display TVs to see what random movie was on and you'll never guess what it was; Monster motherfucking House. At this point I was 12 years old and should not be scared of a children's movie but I was, I didn't want to see that house again, so I made up some bullshit excuse to my brother to go to a different section of the store. Then in October of 2024 I watched it willingly with some friends over Discord and it's now one of my favorite movies unironically because it is actually pretty charming once you get to know it

Edit: omfg so 😭 I forgot like last year I had to get an MRI and they had it set up so you could watch TV while it was being done and out of the DVDs that they had I picked Monster House because it was the only movie I'd actually seen (they had a lot of random bullshit) and I didn't want to pick something and end up not liking it but still be forced to sit through it so might as well y'know?

4:46 when I was about 9 years old I got yelled at by a old man to get off his lawn. I knocked on his door and asked him a question or something like that and when he said no, I walked off and he got really mad😂

I'm in my 50s now as a kid in the 80s my neighbor who was an old lady and she used to yell get off of her lawn all the time if a ball or frisbee went over in her yard you never got it back.😢
