NWA is about as "rock n roll" as a German is an Ethiopian. The sad reality is: rock n roll has been under attack by these Hollywood ghouls for 50+ years and they will never, EVER stop trying to discredit or defame it. Fortunately for us, you can't stop rock n roll! The Hall of Fame is GARBAGE, the ultimate poser organization. Rock is still the #1 selling genre of music in the USA, Europe and elsewhere, even though the mass media COMPLETELY ignores it. It's a psyop

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame needs to change their name if they are going to induct hip hop or rap acts. Those acts aren't rock and roll! Maybe change it to The American Music Hall of Fame.💯

It’s the dumbest argument of all time. ‘They’re not ROCK!’ Neither were the Supremes. You keeping Diana Ross out? Neither was Johnny Cash. How bout him? Neither was Sly Stone (or his Family). Think they have no place in the Hall? Blondie. I forgot Blondie. And The Bee Gees. Oh by the way, Michael Jackson isn’t rock either. Not a single person alive would argue to keep him out. So the rest of you should stafu about hip hop. NWA were bigger, better, and FAR more influential than Priest or Maiden or Journey or whoever you’re mad isn’t in the Hall yet. Maybe they should be in too, but that does not change the fact that Cypress Hill were just as cool and influential as Korn and Eminem is way bigger than anyone not already in. Drake too. And Taylor Swift. She bigger than The Beatles. Is she Rock?

I used to get mad at so many iconic and amazing bands that always deserved to be inducted
Now I realise it’s no longer the rock and roll hall of fame it’s a music hall of fame
That’s why over the last 10 years I couldn’t tell you who is and isn’t in it after I stopped paying attention

Firstly, Corey's wrong. NWA and Run DMC are groups, not bands. Bands are people who play instruments together. I'm not devaluating their efforts, but nomenclature matters.

That's brings me to my second point, it's the ROCK N' ROLL hall of fame. Not the "music hall of fame", not the "western popular music" hall of fame, but the "rock n' roll" hall of fame. It should be rock bands only. Different genres of rock music, sure, but not genres outside the rock tradition.

It’s not the band Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame honored the rock ‘n’ roll genre of music issue. I had this is when you have people that aren’t rock ‘n’ roll music getting inducted and then people that are rock ‘n’ roll that aren’t being inducted.

Motörhead, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Motley Crue, and a host of other Metal bands should’ve been inducted long before many of the artists who have gotten in! To me, the Rock Hall should not include hip-hop or rap…if there was a Rap and Hip-Hop Hall of Fame, I guarantee Rock and Metal acts wouldn’t be inducted. The Rock Hall lost its way long ago, giving in to external pressures..,

NWA were punk rockers – Deserve to be there. But totally agree with Corey – so many pivotal bands that shaped rock/metal overlooked. A band being in the R&R HoF has no impact on me whatsoever, but as Jonathan Davies says, recognition is recognition.

A quick fix to all the problems, change the fucking name to Music hall of fame. 😆 That way they can add whoever because they will anyway and everyone can complain about something else because they will. It's all about money, pretty much any H.O.F or award can be bought.

its no longer the RRHoF; its the Recording Industry HoF .. irrelevant, a distraction & another corporate grift. (KK's Kenny Stabler comment says it ALL)

It’s the music HOF not rock n roll ran by elites who choose.

I believe a metal and rock n roll HOF should open at OZZY’s hometown. Let the artists choose who gets in with fans having some say.

I mean if Alice in chains isn't there then the shit is defunked 🤷🤷🤷🤷
Run DMC is not band btw they where a trio of mcees and extremely dope for sure…but hip hop needs its own thing…hip hop got its own thing and deserves its own respect and breathing room absolutely…and rock is rock …RnR hof deserves no respect until it rights it's wrongs and that will never happen 🤷
