Hi there hello.
I put the tinfoil hat back on and went looking for some new conspiracy theories to believe in. Unfortunately the internet had other ideas. In this episode we investigate a theory about the Titanic secretly being switched with its sister ship, a scientific breakthrough proving light bulbs actually suck dark, Elvis possibly appearing in Home Alone, the government using Powerball to catch time travelers, and Disney allegedly burying a conspiracy about Walt’s frozen head with a very strategic movie title.
So yes, things got a little weird.

I love that Elvis one, because even if we ignore the whole "He would've been 65" thing, that guy still looks nothing like Elvis. For those curious, according to my research, that extra's name was Gary Richard Grott, and he died in 2016.

To be totally fair ''Frozen'' was originally called ''the Snow Queen''. So the theory isn't so much that they made a massive movie just to hide google results but that they changed the name of a movie they were already producing anyway to hide google results. That's less funny though.

This points out an overlooked, but very valid, reason that conspiracy theories are so widespread. They're fun!
Sure there are other reasons: the internet makes them spread faster, people need validation and want to feel smarter than everyone else, etc etc. But let's admit it's just plain fun to think up wacky reasons to explain things, especially if they support our pre-existing early view.
