My problem with the show is it’s comedy is almost entirely look their shopping. Now Peter is a Buddhist monk for 2 minutes on mars and there’s monkeys in pants and back to the episode. Cutaway gags aren’t that funny imo

None of the characters in Family Guy are particularly interesting, or deep none, except maybe modern Stewy are likeable. But that's the secret, they are not there to be characters which we develop an emotional connection to, as much as they are vehicles for absurdist jokes. Like an insane stand up comic routine

One of my issues is that clearly theres one writer in the theme that hates lesbians, obsessed with them fisting (even when its not something that lesbians stereotypically do??) And is mad at their appereance cause its not their taste. Many jokes about the same thing and theyre not funny because theyre not true

14:51 oh its not just sexual assault. They took the time to animate her fighting back, being pinned to the ground desperately punching, and frantically running away. Then have her come back saying it was "fantastic" and she wants to do it again. And its not even the fucking punchline! Its one thing to be offensive for comedy, but the joke of killing them bc they got caught would've been exactly the same if she had consented to begin with.

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Family Guy. The humour is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical physics most of the jokes will go over a typical viewer's head. There's also Brian's nihilistic outlook, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Narodnaya Volya literature, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these jokes, to realise that they're not just funny- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Family Guy truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the humour in Lois's existential catchphrase "PEEETUH" which itself is a cryptic reference to Turgenev's Russian epic Fathers and Sons. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Seth McFarlane's genius wit unfolds itself on their television screens. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
And yes, by the way, i DO have a Peter Griffin tattoo. And no, you cannot see it. It's for the ladies' eyes only- and even then they have to demonstrate that they're within 5 IQ points of my own (preferably lower) beforehand. Nothin personnel kid 😎
