Credo sia abbastanza palese che POPULAR sia volutamente over the top, i personaggi sono eccentrici e cattivi e noi spettatori non eravamo chiamati a giudicarli, è quasi una parodia, una serie da vedere ridendo di quelle ridicolaggini messe lì a mo' di presa in giro. Non possiamo giudicare POPULAR attraverso le lenti del 2026 e neppure possiamo farlo aspettandoci qualcosa di diverso da un dramedy satirico che vuole essere politicamente scorretto. Ci saranno un sacco di commenti che oggi definiremmo e definiamo inappropriati, e che a dirla tutta già allora non erano inseriti nei dialoghi per essere normalizzati, esattamente come quelli di Sue Sylvester in Glee. Non si tratta di normalizzare, ma di mostrare un comportamento negativo, lasciando che sia il pubblico a tirare le conclusioni, senza imboccare agli spettatori la risposta già bella e pronta.

I LOVED ”Popular" when it was on. It was so weird but I loved it. Loved all the actors that cameoed in other TV shows and series around that time. You should DEFINITELY do the whole series, it needs more love. Still hate the cliffhanger it ended on!

@8:36 I know I'm super late to the party here, but for those who don't know (like Jaime? lol) this whole premise – the passing of the secret intel in the parking garage, the use of that particular pseudonym, etc – are all references to the Watergate scandal which resulted in the resignation of US President Richard M. Nixon
