Close your eyes and think of nothing. No, not darkness, nothing. Think of nothing as an object in your mind. Imagine a Universe where all matter has completely decayed, photons and leptons are too far apart to form any processes, and the temperature is near absolute zero.
There is nothing, or more accurately, nothing observable. Stars have all burned out. Black holes have disappeared. No change is occurring to make one moment distinguishable from the next, and perhaps worst of all, there is no conscious being to witness this great nothingness.

Having worked in the power industry for a lifetime, some of your values for solar are almost right. Solar is one of the major destabilizing factors in the power grid or any non stable power generator technology, e.g. wind.

I always appreciate the thought provoking nature of the topics you discuss, and the way you present them, disagreement is not disrespect. Solar energy on earth is limited because regions and materials are important factors, and not every region has the ability to make real use of solar energy, that may eventually change and i hope so. I think for every day humans, having cheap and reliable energy is one of the most important real factors we consider. But that doesn't mean we can't keep researching more energy resources, as long as that doesn't impact our every day prices. I want a bright starry future, but that has to be reliable and cost-effective. If we want big dreams to happen, i think honestly that requires private and public sector partnerships. That would be far helpful for reaching the big dreams we have.

if we only use a fraction of the sun energy and we find a way to store excess or return unused energy in it, we could extend the time it last. Then ultimately find a way to refuel it from an "external", not so much, other closed system.
