Father Knows Best (1954): 15 Weird Facts You Didn’t Know
#rememberwhen Jim Anderson always had the answer, Margaret kept the peace, and the Anderson kids somehow learned life lessons in under 30 minutes on Father Knows Best. Starring Robert Young, Jane Wyatt, Elinor Donahue, Billy Gray, and Lauren Chapin, the series defined the 1950s ideal of American family life — but behind the perfectly polished living room at 607 South Maple, the real story was far stranger than anything Jim Anderson had to solve before the credits rolled.

I'd like to see a reboot of this show, set in the 80s

6:43 That AI generated house looks so twisted and dystopian, I'd rather you don't use images at all instead of this garbage >:(

Watched it when it came on at 8:30. I longed for a dad who would talk things out. Mine must have listened to the radio version 😉

The radio version sounds like my father and my father was military he. Ran his household like he ran his barracks. You did what he said, or else there would be consequences

This one was far before my time so I never saw it. My dad and mom used to talk about it though ❤

Anyone else listen to this narrator and think he’s going to offer you a Werther’s Original?

Funny, I’ve never seen an episode of this, but definitely heard of the show and my parents would say the “Father Knows Best” phrase to us regularly. 😂

I was born in 56. My family didn't get a TV until 67. I had heard about it but didn't have a cable channel that showed it until the late 70's. Fell in love with it immediately.

What is so "weird" about Father Knows Best? It was a lovely show that I enjoyed throughout. I would never have considered it a "weird" show.
